The College accredited curricula and academic programs offer you the opportunity to explore and graduate in many business disciplines including Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, General Business, MGT-Human Resources, MGT-International Business, MGT-Strategy/Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Operations Management, as well as pursue your graduate education in our MBA, Online MBA, and Executive MBA programs. Academic Advising Advising in the College of Business Administration is a partnership between the Student Success Center and Faculty.
Student Success Center
The SSC serves undergraduate Business Administration students. We provide resources and support for student success. Our primary role is to assist students in developing a meaningful educational goal toward graduation.
• Peer Mentors o
Peer Mentors are current Stan State students studying Business Administration. They offer peer to peer support during office hours and academic presentations. They also assist with events like New Student Orientations and Meet the Firms Night.
• Academic Advisors o
Academic Advisors conduct academic, career, personal and social advising. Advising includes the development of educational plans, business course evaluations and articulations, as well as graduation approvals.

The College of Business Administration has 28 full time faculty advisors that can provide career advising and mentorship within your concentration. Advising can also include review of major/concentration courses, business course evaluations and articulations, as well as graduation approvals.
Student Responsibilities
Become knowledgeable of the university catalog, class schedule and resources including: • Business major degree sheets • Degree roadmaps • MAP-My Academic Pathway: STAN Planner, STAN Degree Progress, STAN Scheduler Before meeting with an advisor: 1. Utilize your MAP tools to review and update your degree sheets. They can be found in your Student Portal. 2. Think of goals for the semester and/or graduation you would like to meet. 3. Come prepared with questions and suggested classes you would like to take. Advising is a collaborative effort between you and an advisor.
**Academic advising is not mandatory but highly recommended to ensure you are on track to completing your degree requirements.

Meet the Firms Night The College of Business Administration hosts their annual MEET THE FIRMS NIGHT, Business Job and Internship Fair in the Fall and Spring semesters. Meet the Firms Night provides an opportunity for students to learn about careers and opportunities within their field of study, as well as network with companies in order to develop future contacts, internships and employment opportunities. The event also provides recruiting employers a chance to meet and connect with potential candidates from Stanislaus State. The event is FREE and open to all Business Administration students, MBA students and alumni of the College of Business Administration, as well as Economic students. Juniors and Seniors are highly recommended to attend.
