AROUND THE WORLD, A WAR ON RELIGION By Paul McCabe

The left and its allied axis of evil are carrying on a rising war against religion not only across the US but in many other countries.

Christianity in the region suffered a similar steep drop. Christians now make up approximately 5% of the total Middle Eastern population, down from 20% in the early 20th century, said N. Waller in his 2019 New Europe magazine

The first large-scale exoduses took place in the late 1940s and early 1950s, primarily from Iraq, Yemen and Libya. In these cases over 90% of the Jewish population left, forced to leave their property behind. From 1948 to 1951 260,000 Jews from Arab countries immigrated to Israel, accounting for 56% of the total immigration to the new state.

According to Business Insider in August 2019, Party officials in 2015 introduced the term "sinicization" into official government lexicon, in which they called on Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian leaders to fuse their religions with Chinese socialist thought. Like Pakistan, its political ally to the south, China represses all religions except its own state religion: in this case Communism.

The horrific crime came after some of the worst terrorist attacks in French history carried out by extremist Moslems – the killing of 12 journalists at the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo and the massacre of 130 people at the Bataclan Theater in Paris in 2015. In turn this caused fear that Catholics would be targeted by the Islamic State or other violent groups.

Since then, Moslems in France are believed to have been responsible for a number of attacks, or planned attacks, against Christian sites and symbols. In September 2016, for example, police foiled an attempt by an all-female jihadist group to blow up a car near the Notre-Dame Cathedral. In December 2018, an Islamic extremist killed five people and wounded 11 in a gun and knife attack at the Christmas market in Strasbourg. There have also been

Yesterday in his statement, the President hinted that he wants to start renegotiating a new deal with Iran. It is unclear what provisions a new agreement would contain, but President Trump could lift all sanctions against the Islamic Republic in exchange for an end to their nuclear program and sponsorship of terrorist groups. Therefore, it does not matter how many targets the US hits or how many Iranian officials the American military kills, Soleimani’s killing has made him realize that a deal could be in sight.

But it is unclear how far Tehran is willing to go before the President declares war. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards aerospace force, has said missile attacks on US targets in the Middle East will continue until American troops are driven from the region. This contradicts Trump’s comment that Iran appeared to be ‘standing down.’

Esmali Ghaani, the Head of the Quds Force, has also vowed to drive America out of the Middle East completely. If future attacks resulted in American deaths, it would be difficult for President Trump to resist the pressure to start a new conflict with Iran.

It seems like the Iranian Government believes that it does not matter how far they push the US, a Trump administration will never declare war on them. The US lacks any leverage in future negotiations if it continues to rule out war as an option, and they need that ‘Trump’ card if discussions between both countries are set to result in a peaceful conclusion.

What is most damaging to the Trump administration’s foreign policy is that he has still failed to convince his allies that the Iran Deal needs replacing. No European government has yet declared that they are siding with the President on this issue, even though it is clear Tehran has violated the agreement. He has stated that his objective is to ensure Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon.

President Trump made the right decision to protect Americans from attack in Iraq by killing Soleimani. He also proved that Iran is not ready for war. But he must use this situation as an opportunity to explain to his allies how he is going to prevent the Islamic Republic from developing its nuclear program. He must not be afraid to resort to war as a last option either. Until the President does both those things, tensions between the US and Iran will continue to deepen.
