The Taking Down Of America Should Christians Support Removal of Confederate Statues or memorials ? By Katherine Daigle
WE ARE ONE NATION UNDER GOD…… When our US president raised his Bible overhead at St John’s Church across from the White House it was a sign -mostly an appeal to his evangelical base as our country protested and riots thundered across the United States. Christians, Faith leaders, and Conservatives remained silent, where was the Silent Majority, our Republican leaders that united around President Trump in 2016? Very few Christians answered the call.
On June 1st, “The day after the protesters set fire to St. John’s Church President Trump walked across the street to

church of Presidents’, in nearby Lafayette Park. Protesters had turned the sanctified ground into a battlefield and the Church had been desecrated by those same anarchists that set fire to the church all while throwing bottles and rocks at local law enforcement that were protecting the White House. The next evening: : “as President Trump walked across the street to Lafayette Park many of “Trump’s evangelical followers saw his movement that night as a victory in a world rife with evil. In that moment – we all thought ‘God give him strength! He’s doing a Jericho walk!’”
“A Jericho walk, in some evangelical circles, refers to the biblical book of Joshua, where God commanded the Israelites to walk seven times around the opposing city of Jericho, whose walls then came crashing down. “As President Trump held the bible he looked as if he was wearing the armor of God'”

All Hands on Deck By Paul McCabe
A similar situation occurred in Europe, following Hitler’s declaration of war on the US. General George Marshall mobilized the country, trained millions of troops, and sent them off to defeat the forces of fascism. Private industry miraculously generated an ever-growing mountain of planes, tanks, jeeps, artillery, ordnance, and every kind of equipment.
The amounts were in the millions of tons, amounts unprecedented in history. Long before he was elected President, Lincoln made an interesting speech in 1838. It is worth quoting at some length. "Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow?

There is a widely-held view that China deliberately attacked the United States and the world late in 2019 by releasing and spreading a killer virus from the central city of Wuhan. This opinion is strong in the Trump administration, in the Republican leadership in Congress, and in the red states. Was the timing of this a feint, a charade, a trick to deceive and mislead the attention of the United States? Surely China’s target was not northern Italy, where the virus killed 34,000. In early June, Bloomberg News reported that the Chinese government appears to be reneging on the trade deal, telling state-owned agricultural firms to halt purchases of US soybeans, one of the major agricultural exports to China and a pillar of the deal’s promised $200 billion in extra

Please recall the oath of office of the President, the military, and even federal officers who “do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” It is time now for every American to take this oath and to carry it out with the high resolve that Lincoln recommended. Once again an old text gives insight to the present situation.

We cannot afford to ignore what is now crystal clear. China has been at war with the United States, whether we knew it or not. They were not interested in working as our slave labor force, cheerfully making a thousand plastic cups for 10 cents. We allowed our monumental egos to cloud our judgement and to convince us that their willingness to do our dirty work was nothing more than a few simple business deals, or them wanting to be our permanent underclass overseas.

“China has been at war with the United States, whether we knew it or not” We cannot continue to trade our future for temporary convenience or a little amusement. We have to draw lines in the sand and say no to Trojan horses like TikTok and Huawei’s 5G. It is not going to be easy because we have become a little spoiled, but we either deal with this now or we wait until the problem is even harder to solve.
I suggest that we tighten our belts a bit, eat a little humble pie, learn to do our own dirty work, and stop jeopardizing our future for the present.
