Okay I have some great articles with information important to our industry in the Web Edition but here I have some News from the Road. Pictured next to us here is the World Famous Grand Rodeo Champion too many times for me to mention Howard McAfee with the lovely May Front Cover, Centerfold and Pet Page Carolynne. Howard was Xp3’d by Carolynne and I at the Roadking truck stop in Calgary AB Canada. Puppy was not to interested in these pictures till got to cuddle with Carolynne for the Pet Page. I was especially interested to Xp3 Howard as with his experience and tracking fuel I wanted to see what his Iron tells him. Howard said pulling the mountains with his newest truck he has on with Trappers he noticed a difference straight away. On page 12 is a bunch of O/O’s who have been Xp3’d that too have experience the difference. I am not going to do an info commercial here, read more on page 32. Thanks Howard for the visit and good luck on the Provincials coming up! Had to plug the 57 Chev Cafe next to us here, awesome food if you ever have a chance to swing in on the east side of the city of Winnipeg in the industrial area. My friend Bob Pellack eats there with an additive I will be testing on my next delivery and reporting to you that can be used almost anywhere you add fluids to your rig. Prolong Super Lubricants it is called, if you are using it let me know, if you aren’t, stand by for info after it is given the CTM test.

Querel Trailers Your Place to Pick Up Xp3!

8

Querel Trailers has the Xp3 you all have been looking for. Pictured above, Bruce Querel, at Querel Trailers with the new Xp3 stand. His experience in this industry and testing Xp3 told him this is a product to stand behind and offer to his customers. This is a CTM favorite as Bruce has put an article in CTM in the past and more in the future I hope as he is in my opinion the trailer expert. Not only how they are built and what is junk and what not, but what you can legally use and what you should be using. Querel Trailers has been providing contractors, road builders, forestry professionals and long haulers with quality new and used semi-trailers for over seven years. With +35 years trailer sales experience behind it, Querel Trailers has the industry expertise needed to ensure its customers get top-quality products at reasonable prices. Querel's Trailers has a large inventory to choose from. The company stocks 50, 55 and 60 tonne lowbeds, C/W Jeeps and boosters, tandem steel and aluminum end dumps with box liners, tri-axle steel and aluminum end dumps and mechanical detaches.

You might not be pulling one of these now, but I bet you know someone who is. Querel also specializes in the forest industry. Through its manufacturers, the company has a wide range of pulp trailers including tandems, tri-axles and super Bs. Querel also has storage trailers and storage containers for sale. Querel is based in Manitoba, but can and does provide service across the country thanks to unrestricted territorial agreements with manufacturers. As part of its commitment to service, Querel will deliver trailers to its customers' home place of business, anywhere between Ontario and British Columbia. Querel staff offers extensive product and industry knowledge meaning an informed comparison can be done right in the shop. Not only will they provide everything a customer needs to know about the trailer and its components, but Querel staff is well-versed in regulation requirements and restrictions so customers can make sure they leave with the right purchase. Querel Trailers comes backed by a solid reputation that makes the company name synonymous with quality products and exceptional service. This is where I go to!

NEW ILLEGAL DRUGS HITTING OUR STREETS

Define Bath Salts: a designer drug chemically concocted containing substituted cathinones causing effects similar to amphetamine and cocaine; sold under the semblance of bathing products due to their white crystals resembling Epsom salts.

Packaging often states "not for human consumption" in order to avoid legal misconduct if someone should die. Bath Salts are a synthetic compound of a chemical that is found in the plant Khat, one that this reporter wrote about last year; Khat originates in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya and is now being shipped into Canada. On the street the drug is known by various names: MDPV – methylenedioxypyrovalerone, methylone, mephedrone, ivory wave, vanilla sky, monkey dust, and hurricane Charley. This drug, bath salts, is being ingested via snorting, smoking, eating or injection. Similar to amphetamines, bath salts use causes symptoms on the central nervous system that are absolutely horrific; increased risk of heart attack due to the high intensity of increased stimulation, kidney failure, liver failure, hallucinations, paranoia, violent behavior, increased tolerance for pain and can even lead to suicide. Health Canada reported that MDPV use has been connected with severe panic attacks, anxiety, hallucinations and psychosis. In a report written by an actual user from Nova Scotia of this drug described the experience as this: "felt like I wanted to kill me or kill somebody else. Horrible feeling of sketchiness, constantly looking over your shoulder or peeking out around your curtains or windows, hiding under the blankets." Do you remember a case in the news May 2012 about a murder in Miami when a 31year-old man, Rudy Eugene, was found viciously gnawing at 65-year-old Ronald Poppo’s face in the day light on a busy highway?

10

When the police officer arrived on scene and demanded the Rudy Eugene to stop, the 31 year old ‘growled’ back at him like an animal. Finally the police officer had to shoot Rudy to stop him, it took 4 shots to kill him. The 65-year-old victim lost 75% of his face to this vicious attack leaving him unrecognizable. Rudy Eugene, the man doing the chewing was high on Bath Salts. At Aberdeen Hospital in Nova Scotia, Dr. Heidi-Marie Farinholt reported that this chemical concoction is one of the most addictive drugs out there currently. "It is extremely dangerous. So you take cocaine and multiply it by a factor of 10 and you have this," she said. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to catch distributors of this product because being a synthetic drug, MDPV is not detectible by drug-sniffing dogs. It’s also difficult to detect the presence of this drug in a person’s body, as it’s undetectable in routine blood and urine tests. Marijuana – Cannabis, we all know about this drug, which is grown right here locally, most often inhaled and used as a psychoactive drug and as medicine in critically ill patients. Contains THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, physiological side effects: feeling of euphoria, relaxation, heightened mood and appetence.

Now there is a New Marijuana that has hit the streets, it’s not from a plant; this one is being synthetically produced in Asia, most often China. This synthetic marijuana creates a “high” that is supposed to mimic the natural cannabis plant, unfortunately there are far too many adverse potentially life threatening side effects to this synthetically produced marijuana. It does not contain THC, alternatively unknown chemicals. The street name changes constantly: K2, Spice, Spice Gold, Herbal Incense and MT-45.

As the DEA and RCMP catch wind of these new synthetic marijuana names they are working on laws that will encompass all possible forms of this dangerous street drug.

These drugs from China are positively linked to numerous deaths in North America; DEA compares taking this synthetic marijuana to playing Russian roulette.

While our government is working diligently to track down and stop these illegal drugs from coming into Canada, unfortunately due to the synthetic compounds utilized it’s virtually impossible.

product?

Where are people purchasing such a

Welll because it’s not the standard run of the plant world mill marijuana, it’s being sold at convenience stores, hemp stores, smoke shops and most often now it is being purchased online! That’s correct, there are numerous websites now that are selling these products and they are extremely easy to purchase. These websites have been under investigation for the past year by drug enforcement teams such as ICE - Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in an attempt to figure out how to control illegal drug sales, these websites are owned and operated by Chinese businesses. The street names are not mentioned in the “Controlled Substances Act” therefore can be sold anywhere currently.

TAT and WIT Pilot Program to Combat Human Trafficking By; Ellen Voie CAE, President/CEO Women in Trucking

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) and Women in Trucking (WIT) are looking for 25 women drivers to participate in a three-month pilot program handing out lip balm with a special message on them to girls and women who might be human trafficking victims. “We are excited to see our partnership with WIT move to the next level, and truly believe this campaign has great potential to reach victims with the help they so desperately need," says Kendis Paris, TAT executive director. Women, by virtue of their gender, often have greater opportunity to interact with and show compassion to minors and adult women (away from their pimps and without suspicion), who may be the victims of forced prostitution.

This interaction may occur in public restrooms at truck stops or travel plazas, in a hotel/motel lobby, at a laundromat or even in a restaurant.

That interaction, either via the message on the lip balm (if the girl is able to act on it) or the phone call a driver makes -- if human trafficking is suspected -- could directly lead to victim rescue. A similar program in Kentucky resulted in a spike of victim calls to the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) at 1-888-3737-888 requesting help. To harness this potential for female interaction, TAT and WIT are launching this threemonth pilot to run from July 7-Sept. 30, 2014. If successful, the program has the potential to expand across the United States with an unlimited number of drivers participating.

Participating drivers in the pilot will be responsible to hand out specially printed lip balms to those they think might be human trafficking victims and to engage them in conversation, if that is possible.

At the end of each interaction, participating drivers will need to write down specific data regarding the exchange, as well as report potential human trafficking situations to the NHTRC. An online training webinar for the 25 women will take place on June 24, 2014 from 5:30-6:30 CST. It will cover how to approach and interact with potential victims as well as understand the field data that needs to be documented after each exchange.

If you’re interested and care about taking advantage of the key role you can play as a female driver in reaching out to girls and women forced into the sex industry, please call 920-737-9490 or email lana@womenintrucking.org. 2014.

Deadline to sign up is June 15,
