Helen Barrett - Model / Actress - London
Helen has been performing in musicals and theatre from a young age, starring in musicals such as 'Chess' and 'Me and My Girl' and soon to be treading the boards in Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Nights Dream' and Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights'. Helen also works as a seamstress, and has made performance costumes for many dance shows.

My name is Rahat Ali Shah. I come from a family of art directors and artists who
have worked in media for three generations based in Lahore, Pakistan. My late Father’s wish was that I follow his foot steps and join the industry. I fulfilled his wish and became a fashion model, photographer and graphic designer. Did you always want to be a photographer? I wanted to put my own creative ideas into photography. I started off with landscape portraits and different location shots. Have you worked with any well known brands? I’ve worked with The Brand from the Middle East and a well known Pakistani designer, HSY. I would love to work within the Bollywood or Hollywood Industries. Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? I prefer to work in locations but don’t mind working in the studio. I can work my magic on location and in the studio!

What do your friends and family think of you being a photographer? My family and friends are chuffed and happy with my work. Have you been to any particularly exotic locations for a shoot? Yes I’ve had an exotic shoot in Doha Qatar.

How do you prepare for a shoot? I set my mood board, the location of the theme and organise the team who are involved in the shoot and I also get my gear ready. What do you think makes a good photographer? A good photographer should be creative and well organised. Out of all of your shoots, which has been your favourite? The best has got to be The Angel Bridal Wedding theme shoot. Who inspires you? I am inspired by my late Father - he was a multi talented and hard working man.
