Gracie - Body Art Model - Norwich UK
Modelling isn't always about fashion shoots and runways. Behind the glossy mags there's a whole other world that's both colourful and creative. Body art model Gracie is all about the paint, having modelled the creative style for the past 3 years since taking part in a local festival – Paintopia - based in her hometown of Norwich, UK. “I fell in love with the creative people and the outcome of the paint – the modelling side just came with wanting to show off the painter's art.” Despite Gracie's strong interests lying in art nude and body make up, genres that require a certain level of self assurance, she hastens to label herself a model, and fervently admits she's not a “confident person” going on to say: “I think as a model you need to act like you (have confidence).” Gracie's professional approach means she can take a step back as a typical model and consider all angles of a project according to what the artist or photographer is attempting to achieve. The artistic nature of body paint modelling means shooting is heavily performed within the constraints of the studio, although Gracie loves nothing more than the opportunity to get with nature in the great outdoors. Someone with an obvious passion for their work, Gracie struggles to answer when asked about her favourite shoot. “Ah, so many!” she gushed, before delving in and out of shoots she felt privileged to have been involved with. But it seems those first memories are the most treasured moments. “My first ever body paint was with Jenny Marquis and I believe that if she hadn't made my experience as wonderful as she did I wouldn't have continued in the way I have.” Gracie's grounded personality and ability to step into character has earned her opportunities working worldwide and with artists she truly admires. And the wisdom she's acquired? “During modelling I learnt you don't have to look a certain way, you don't even have to be a confident person, you just have to enjoy what you do and believe in your actions.” Sound advice for any aspiring model to learn from.

"All of us experience change in our lives. Change is the one constant in our lives. There are changes that we look forward to and change that we fear. But, one thing is for sure, things will not stay the same no matter how much we would like them too. When a life change occurs, we have two choices in how to respond. We can despair that a change has come and assume that things will be worse or we can look with excitement at the new possibilities that the change presents." I choose to dream big.
