What is your name and where are you based? My name is Elizabeth Crawford and I am based in the North East, living in a small town near Newcastle. I’ve only been living here for around 7 months so I'm always on the lookout for new contacts up here!

How did you get into modelling and how long have you been doing it? I’ve been modelling for roughly three years now. I started when I was at university, having joined a model/photographer networking site on a friend’s recommendation and it went from there really. I met a photographer who encouraged me to broaden my networking horizons, and once I’d worked with a few more photographers I began to realise how much I enjoyed it. And I’ve been doing it ever since! What types of modelling do you do? My main areas of modelling are beauty, fashion and editorial. I particularly love beauty as faces intrigue me so much, and there’s so much scope for creativity. Have you modelled for any well known brands or names? Every model's dream! Not as yet but I’m working with an upcoming fashion designer later this month so watch this space! Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? I love the beautiful natural images you can get from shooting on location, and I love images that have a context or story, but if I had to choose I would probably say studio. As I said, I love shooting beauty and there’s almost nothing you can’t do in a studio – the opportunities for creativity are endless.

What do your friends and family think of you being a model? I have had so much support from my friends and family since I started, and even from people that I don’t know. It’s so lovely knowing that something you do is appreciated and admired so much. I know my parents are proud of me – to be honest they just love having such nice photos of their daughter! What is the furthest place you have travelled for a shoot? When I first started out and was living down south, I went on a four day location shoot up north which seemed like a very long way away at the time – strange that I’m now living up here. There are so many parts of the world I want to see, and hopefully there will be opportunities to travel to other countries with my agency in the future. What preparations do you do before a shoot? There are so many things to think about before going on a shoot – finding clothes you may need if they’re not all provided, choosing a suitable make-up selection. If I’m doing my own make-up I arrive at the shoot with the basics done so we can start with a natural look to build on, and it saves time too. When working with a make-up artist my skin needs to be cleansed, toned and moisturised so they can work their magic! Above all you need to be as prepared as you can – it’s not always set in stone exactly what is going to happen on a shoot so plan ahead! What do you think makes a good model? I think it’s important to be as down to earth as you can be. Having any kind of ego isn’t going to get you anywhere in this industry as people just don’t have the time or patience for it – they simply won’t want to work with you again. A model also needs to be prepared to work hard, both on the shoot and off. A lot of people think we just turn up looking beautiful and pout in front of a camera for a bit but it’s just not the case. You need to have patience and professionalism, as well as the understanding that it’s not just about you. The image itself is the photographer’s work, the make-up is the make-up artist’s work, the outfit is the stylist’s work and so on. A model is part of a creation and the face of the concept, but there’s more going on than just that. It’s a team effort not a solo mission! fashion photographer I love fashion and trying to create something beautiful yet bold and interesting. I'm not a fan of overly subdued pictures, preferring a vibrant, simple yet eyecatching look.
On my latest shoots I have had Jade as my MUA, Kelly as my Stylist and a number of models. 13
What is your name and where are you based? Brian Conran, (Pyramid Clicks) from Stevenage, Hertfordshire. How did you get into photography and how long have you been doing it? It was about two years ago really, as I used to do some photo edits for other people, these were mainly images they had taken and needed a little tidy up. I'm not very good by any standards but I enjoyed seeing if it would make a difference to the original image. After a while I wanted to take my own images and then play around with my own images. I had a lot to learn and still have, but I have tried to better myself as I have gone along. What types of photography do you do? i.e glamour, fashion, pinup, etc I have always been a fan of Terry Mendoza and his images and especially my love of all things 50s…… So I think the Pin Up style was where I was leaning to. I am now discovering there are many styles to be explored. Do you prefer working on location or in a studio? When I started, it was with the blue or white sheet as a back drop in the top of a working mans' social club. This served a purpose but was clearly not a way forward, especially when lugging up and down the stairs ones lighting equipment. I then had the use of a local studio that had the high key background and did many many shots in this. I started to look over my work and everything was looking the same, as I only saw the white, so I needed a change of direction and some colour. I went on to book a day at Saracen House Studio in Milton Keynes and it was there that I found the importance of good lighting, and I have to say Andrew was very tolerant of my thousand and one questions. But I took away a very good few hours lesson from him. I have now used many studios that have a variety of sets and backdrops.

What do you think makes a good photographer? There a few things: one is to have a vision of what you see as the result. Another would be to have the trust of your model. If you are using Photoshop, know how to use it, as I had later found from my early days. I look back at some of my images and wonder what the hell I was thinking! What's your favourite shoot you have ever done? There have now been so many, but one that will stick with me for a long time is the recent snow shoot with Charli-Ann: 9am on a freezing Sunday morning (-2) and out in next to nothing. To say she was brave was an understatement. I was wrapped up in layers and still cold, but there was not one shot where she portrayed any sign on coldness. This added to the images and made it really special for me. Plus I got to try out my new Sony A77 and 800w ring flash with excellent results.

vourite fashion designer and why? great follower of fashion, I have taken a liking for photographing latex; on the right model it can look produce awesome results for the camera. I now own many outfits from the likes of Catalyst Latex & Latex; this enable the models to try latex if they have not worn it before and every one who has tried it n go on to purchase their own latex outfits. One dress the model loved so much she wore it out that e Contest and came third from around 50 couples. She was about 5lbs lighter after, I may add!
ng else you would like to tell us about yourself and your photography or anything else? what I do and get a buzz from seeing the images after for the first time on the PC. I am by far not good call myself good as I see so much excellent work out there. I only hope by sticking at it and trying to ch time my work will improve in time. It is a learning curve that's not been easy but most enjoyable.

"The original idea for the shoot was to shoot her doing her makeup just like the Geisha she has tattooed on her back with the corset being warn and looking into a mirror while applying makeup. The lighting for the room was excellent and so natural so we changed it up and decided to show her beauty as well as makeup skills!"

I was born and raised in Warsaw in Poland, now living in London, where I am studying photography at Blake College.
When I began my adventure with photography, I didn't I realise that it would turn out to be not only a true passion but also an inspiring way in my life.
This shoot was to create a vintage, smoky look as Sarmite's collections are about expressing her love for theatrical garments in today's wearable way with an elegant femininity.

I met Sarmite Ostanevica a while ago. Her approach to connect fashion with art forms sounded extremely interesting to me as I admire art, and currently I'm applying for fine art photography / fashion related courses at universities in London. This is the first shoot we have done so far and, honestly, I'm hoping to do much more with her!

Lingerie & Pinup Model & Blogger
Becky's Boudoir is my lingerie and lifestyle blog which I started two years ago. Being also a lingerie and pin up model, at the start I shared only my modelling life; behind the scenes images of photo shoots, my inspirations and shoot images from photographers and publications. I've always had a passion for writing and the combination of gorgeous lingerie and my keen eye for detail led me onto the world of product reviews for leading lingerie brands such as Freya and Boux Avenue and discussing curvy related topics which I would spend much of my time writing in between shoots. I'm a firm believer in being myself, being constructively critical and not shying away from controversial topics such as the definition of a curvy figure and sharing photos of myself testing out lingerie.
Throughout March I'm representing Wonderbra UK as an official blog ambassador for National Cleavage Day. It is a huge honour to be singled out by such an iconic brand, and my role will see me encouraging all women to join in the light hearted celebration of the female form. Be proud of your boobs; we shouldn't have to feel ashamed of them. Show off your cleavage! Celebrate National Cleavage Day!
Visit Becky's Boudoir to find out more about Wonderbra UK's National Cleavage Day and for the chance to win Wonderbra lingerie.

I started modelling because I fell in love with the cheekiness of pin-up. I feel that it allows me to unleash my creative, quirky side whilst it being lots of fun too! I hope to inspire people to start modelling, as it has given me so much confidence to meet new people and just enjoy myself in front of the camera. It's interesting to see what you can create when you really push yourself.
