CoachTouring The Directory

As we turn the page on another year, there’s much to celebrate in the world of coach travel. This thriving mode of transport is moving full steam ahead – and with good reason.
Beyond the undeniable charm of travelling together, modern advancements in coach technology are revolutionising the journey. With cutting-edge air filtration systems delivering cleaner, fresher air, and the rising costs of fuel making individual travel less feasible, coaches are proving to be a smart, sustainable, and budget-friendly choice.
But it’s not just about convenience. Coaches are a cornerstone of British transport, and the latest data from the Confederation of Passenger
Transport shines a spotlight on their incredible impact. Did you know that coaches facilitate over 450 million journeys each year? That’s an astounding 40% of the trips completed on the national rail network! And their contribution doesn’t stop at moving people – this vital industry drives a staggering £6.4 billion into the UK economy annually.
This directory is your ultimate guide to exploring new destinations, discovering key industry insights, and connecting with like-minded professionals. So, buckle up for an exciting year ahead – the road is calling, and the future of coach travel is brighter than ever!

Discover Tun bridge Well s, nestled in the heart of the Garden of Engl and
Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent has long been a popular destination for tours and groups, conveniently situated just over an hour from Dover and Greater London and just 25 minutes from the M25 network. This Royal Spa town offers visitors the best of all worlds; set within an area of outstanding natural beauty, the home of Decimus Burton architecture, The Pantiles and Chalybeate spring, two thriving theatres, an award-winning grass-roots music venue, the Spa Valley Railway and the recent addition of The Amelia Scott , a cultural centre housing art exhibitions, interactive historical rooms and the museum.
Tunbridge Wells is an all-year round destination with annual events including Jazz on the Pantiles, music concerts and literary, antiques, food and drink festivals alongside open gardens, the Tunbridge Wells circular walk, foodie experiences and seasonal events. It is also a historically fascinating town, visitors have been coming to Royal Tunbridge Wells since the discovery of the Chalybeate Spring in 1606. The Wells became a favourite destination for fashionable society as the place to be and be seen which led to the development of accommodation and places of entertainment such as coffee houses, gaming-rooms and an assembly room for dances and balls, along with hosting horse races on the Old Race Track (now protected footpaths on The Common). In 1909 it received its ‘Royal’ status from King Edward VII thanks to its many royal and aristocratic visitors and was once the holiday location for a young Queen Victoria, who also used to worship at King Charles the Martyr Church by The Pantiles.
Today, Tunbridge Wells is also a premier hospitality and shopping location with over 250 places to eat and drink and a broad range of big brands and boutique independents within the key shopping areas; Royal Victoria Place, The Camden Quarter, The Old High Street, Chapel Place and The Pantiles. The town also has dedicated coach parking bays five minutes’ walk from the town centre or The Pantiles.

Cumbria is one of the most popular destinations in the country for coach excursions. With its breathtaking scenery of crystal-clear lakes, soaring mountains and picture-postcard villages, it's easy to see why.
The heart of Cumbria is the Lake District National Park. Each of the lakes has its own charm and character. Windermere, England's longest lake is surrounded by rolling hills. At Coniston, visitors can enjoy a trip on the restored Steam Yacht Gondola, while the natural beauty of the scenery around the lakes at Rydal and Grasmere inspired much of William Wordsworth's poetry.

While the towns of Herefordshire are attractive and lively, to really experience the essence of this unspoilt county, visitors are advised to venture down the less travelled roads and explore the myriad of villages and hamlets that pepper the landscape in this unspoilt county.
There is much for groups to do and see, including the fairytale Georgian Eastnor Castle, which is dramatically situated in the Malvern Hills. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by a deer park, arboretum and lake, it boasts beautifully restored interiors.

Hertfordshire, often described as London's back garden, is in fact a mosaic of nature reserves and green open spaces known as the Lee Valley Park, which stretches 26 miles from London's East End all the way to Broxbourne.
The historic city of St. Albans is a fascinating place, with its Georgian houses, antique shops and bustling market. The magnificent cathedral would be reason enough for groups to visit. It is dedicated to St Alban, a Roman who became the first Christian martyr when he died for his beliefs in the 3rd century.
Hatfield House, childhood home of Queen Elizabeth I, is one of the jewels of England's heritage. To the north, Knebworth House sits in 250 acres of parkland and is well worth a visit.

The biggest city in Europe has something for everyone. It may not be the easiest place to navigate, but bring a party to London and they will never cease to thank you for your trouble. Take advantage of the extensive public transport system (only Londoners actually complain about it) and let your party alight at a convenient location, and let the underground train take the strain. With so much to take in, even the website weighs a ton. So sit comfortably and find that all of London's attractions can be reviewed at www.visitlondon.com
