undaberg Eight Ball Association The 2015 season has started of great with newly formed teams capable of taking the top scoring position from teams of previous years. We have a few new promising players and some past players that have been practising and are now really stepping up their game. The clubhouse is still improving, we now have cameras above all tables linked to our tv and will soon be able to run live stream competitions. By this June we will have a new side door and deck for a smoking and drinking area. The Bundy Classic was great last year and recently the May Day weekend and hope to see all our good friends up or down here again. We would like to say a big thank you to Greg Dingle for all his help at the start of the year getting things sorted and for all the ongoing support he offers. “Thanks Greg. For the 2015 City V Country we have had three sponsors join us and offer support, So another big thank you to our new sponsors. The East End Hotel, Young Aussie Hotel and the Tattersalls Hotel also continue to support the Bundaberg Eight Ball Association by allowing us to play out of their venues.

apricornia CUE SPORTS INC CAPRICORNIA CUE SPORTS INC. (previously called Rockhampton Eight Ball Assoc.) has a league that plays every Tuesday night. Teams of 6 play three doubles and 12 singles games. Teams play against each other in a round-robin format leading to finals at the end of our Winter and Summer seasons during the year. Each team plays out of a venue of their choice. Our venues include the CQ Leagues Club, Victoria Park Bowls Club, Berserker Tavern, Bartlett’s Tavern, Victoria Tavern, Park Avenue Hotel, Kabra Hotel, Scotvale Park Squash Centre, and the North Rockhampton Bowls Club. Membership in the Capricornia Cue Sports association gives our players opportunities to play in wider competitions leading to the pathway for State Team trials and State Singles and eventually selection in an Australian team. Our Mens ‘A’ Grade Team players won the 2014 CVC Competition and our Ladies Team were runners-up in the same competition. The objects of our association include encouraging the playing of cue sports and promoting good fellowship among those enjoying cue sports in the CQ region.

raser coast Our Association has been run-
ning for over 15 years with over 100 members. We are proud to be the host association for 2013 and 2014 CQ CvC. We strive to make every year more successful and we have just purchased 6 new AEBF standard pool tables. Gladstone and Rockhampton have also purchased 2 tables each to ensure the playing standards are at a higher level for this event. In 2012 our A grade men’s team won the Central Queensland Mens Team event and in 2013 our A Grade men’s team and ladies team were the overall winners and our B grade men’s team came in second place. In the past we have had ladies and men represent our Association not only at the zone level but also the state level. In 2013 Trae Spasojevic placed 2nd in the Queensland Junior State under 15’s championship Team events are on Wednesday nights and singles events on Monday nights. We currently have 16 teams with more wanting to join next year. Fraser Coast also have challenge matches against Gympie and Maryborough annually. We have also raised money for local charities through many fundraising activities for our local community The Kondari Hotel, Harveys Bar and Bistro, Hervey Bay Sports Club, Miners Arm Hotel and the Community Centre in River heads support us by allowing us to play out of their wonderful venues. Kondari hold a money comp on Thursday nights and Harveys Bar and Bistro on a Friday night. Our main goal is to have our own club house in the near future.
W
e welcome all new members whether senior or young and accommodate all levels of playing skills. So if you are would like to meet new people and are looking for something fun to do then this is the sport for you. Contact Craig James or Julie Lucas on 0438154865. 15

LADSTONE .This year Gladstone are the proud
hosts of the CQ City v Country which is being held at the Boyne Island Community Centre over the course of the weekend. We decided to try this way to see how viable it was for Association’s to arrange and run the whole event and how successful it may turn out. It will depend on how the other Association’s take to this concept. A lot of hard work has gone into holding this event and without the dedication of certain members it would have been very difficult indeed. We would also like to thank our sponsors: Mal Atwell Billiards & Bingo, Minemech, Gladstone Regional Council, Gladstone Cinemas, RG’s, Stan’s Spray & Panel, Newprint HRG, Simply Solid Timber Furniture, Pentair, Garlock, Yokogawa, Hervey Bay Removals, Isenring, Tools ‘R’ Us, Maycocks Auto Spare Parts, Pacific and Body Dynamics. It makes the whole event worthwhile when you have businesses who will help support our Association and our game so a big Thank You to them all. Gladstone 8-Ball Association Inc itself has been evolving over the last year or two. We have been playing the same format for so many years that we knew we had to change with the times so that we could help our players develop their game and become more competitive. So we have now started a 4-a-side Competition for our season. We also introduced Juniors into our competition and we are hoping that over time we will have more become members as it is the Juniors who will continue and help our Association grow for the future.
However to finish off, we are proud of our players and GO Happy Rock
8
At the present we still play from various clubs and hotels, who without their assistance, our Association would not be where it is today. But we believe that for our future we need a clubhouse where we can build our members base so this is one of our biggest undertakings which we know will take time but is definitely something to work towards. 19

ioneer LOGO In the background of the Logo
sits the FAMILY TREE which represents you and me, and the Family of Friends that have grown over the years, since our beginnings at the Andergrove Tavern.
A bond of trust and goodwill that has attracted more and more Players and supporters each year, the mirror of a growing Family, filled with Brotherhood, Sisterhood, and the love and respect of each other, first and foremost. In the centre is the EIGHT BALL. The Sport that we love, with a passion. The Sport that has brought us all together. The Sport that led us to the formation of the Pioneer Eight Ball Association. The HANDS surrounding the Eight Ball represents the nurturing of the Pioneer, the support of all members and supporters, and the guidance in teachings, to play the game in a sporting manner. The GECKOS signify our home, the Golden Gecko, our origin and club house owned and operated by Allan and Marie. With their trust, belief, generosity, and kindness, makes the PEBA a reality and most significantly history. The HIBISCUS FLOWERS symbolizes Mackay and the beautiful tropics which we are nestled in. The tropical flowers grow in abundance along our scenically blue river, the Pioneer, which flows from our Eungella rainforests, through our city of Mackay, into our pristine ocean.
