History in the Tasting

York Gin is a small independent distiller of some of the world’s finest gins. We use traditional methods to make our gins in

York's only distillery. The company began as an idea cooked up in one of York’s finest independent pubs, The Swan. A group of friends (and the landlord) decided it was time for the city to have its own gin company. York Gin’s range of six gins have won top honours at the world's biggest spirits competitions - and have become synonymous with the finest quality. Inspired by York’s incredible history and with a desire to make York proud, the York Gin Company launched in 2018 under the motto ‘History in the Tasting’. You can find our shop in the 16th century Sir Thomas Herbert’s House on Pavement (opposite the famous Shambles).

An incredibly smooth Navy Strength 57% dry gin, inspired by York’s villains, Guy Fawkes and Dick Turpin. Best English Navy, World Gin Awards 2021.

York Gin Chocolate & Orange

This Christmas gin is beautifully balanced and unsweetened. With luxurious chocolate and zesty orange. Inspired by Christmas favourite Terry’s Chocolate Orange, invented in York.

York Gin Grey Lady

We’ve added hints of Earl Grey tea and extra citrus to our signature London Dry gin. Delicate pea flower creates its haunting blue-grey hue.

York Gin Roman Fruit

A full-strength dry gin with no added sugar. Fruits and flowers from Ancient Rome including strawberries and hibiscus give it a deep red hue.
