Fans of Ronnie O’ Sullivan will happily recall him laying down two great snookers against Neil Robertson in the 8th frame of the 2021 World Grand Prix. Anyone who follows the game of snooker knows that laying down a snooker can put the opponent in an unfavorable position, and can significantly change the outcome of a frame or match. Here is a small selection of some memorable ones from years past...

Mark Selby achieved 4 snookers against Steven Hendry at the 2011 World Championships in frame 16 of the 2nd round . He went on to win the match 13-4.

In the 2006 World Championship quarter final Ken Doherty battled back to win a frame in which he had needed 3 snookers, eventually losing the match 13-10 to Marco Fu.

At the 1996 British Open Nigel Bond won his maiden ranking event title in dramatic fashion by defeating John Higgins 9-8 on the black having needed a snooker in the deciding frame.

Mike Hallett recovered from needing 4 snookers in a semi final match against John Parrott in the 1988 Benson & Hedges Masters, to win the decider 6–5. He lost 9-0 to Steve Davis in the final.

John Spencer achieved 6 snookers in the 6th frame of the 1987 Dulux British Open to win the frame against Jimmy White. Jimmy went on to win the match 5-3.

At the 1985 Goya Matchroom Trophy Cliff Thorburn was trailing Jimmy White 7-0 and 74-0 in the 8th frame. With 4 reds remaining, Thorburn was awarded a free ball and forced two more fouls and another free ball and cleared the table with a break of 42 to win on the black.
