P R E S I D E N T ' S W E L C O M E

Dear members,

I hope you all have had a wonderful winter break and a great start to the term! I am extremely excited to share this term card with you. CULS has so much to be proud of (and to look forward to) as the CULS Committee 2022-23 enter their final term in tenure.

Last term, we hosted CULS' first in-person foreign exchange since pre-pandemic. This connected Cambridge students to students at the University of Malta. Our brand new Diversity & Inclusion Department truly made its mark on the society and has exciting events planned for this term. Our 121st Law Ball, hosted at the beautiful Madingley Hall, was filled with plenty of celebrations, dancing and fun, after what was an intense Michaelmas Term

As we enter into Lent Term, there is so much more to be excited about. We have exciting speaker events with guests including CULS' Honorary President and Former President of the Supreme Court Baroness Hale, Sir Nick Green, Chair of the Law Commission and more We also have exciting and diverse social and welfare events for members to get involved in. Our Careers Department have an array of events ranging from Citizens Advice, dispute resolution, student advice panels on tripos and applications, and more. Following on from the success of last term's Law Ball, CULS' Lent Gala committee are planning and organising our Annual Lent Gala and launch party, so keep an eye out for details to come.

We also have our Alumni Dinner coming up, where members can connect and learn from our alumni who have gone on to pursue a range of impressive careers, and where alumni can rekindle memories of being in Cambridge.

Furthermore, Lord Sales will be presenting awards to our members for their Pro Bono achievements at our Pro Bono awards We have also partnered up with the Oxford Law Society for our Varsity Dinner and Varsity Moot. There are so many more events and initiatives happening this term, and there simply isn't enough space for me to list them all on this welcome page, so please do have a read of the rest of this term card and get involved.

As I enter my final term as President, I would like to say a huge thank you to the CULS Committee It has been an absolute pleasure working with each and every one of you I am so proud of everything that CULS has achieved this year and these achievements would not have been possible without the committee's dedication to the society. I would also like to thank our sponsors for their generous support of our society and for contributing so much effort into supporting our members' journeys into the legal field Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank our members for all of your support, it has been a true honour to serve as your President for 2022-23.
