6.30 p.m. 16th Edition of the Giants’ Trobada (meeting) A meeting of giant figures in Plaza de la Pinada in Santa Ponça. Following a parade along Gran Vía Puig de Galatzó the giants come together and dance in Plaza de la Pinada. The huge giants are figures associated with festive imagery and normally represent kings, nobles or historical figures dressed in traditional costumes. Together with the capgrossos – large-headed figures – they are a popular feature of many traditional festivals. 9.30 p.m. Popular dance with two music groups: Estol de Ponent and Música Nostra Venue: Plaza de la Pinada, Santa Ponça

7 p.m. Naïf Parade A show performed by Circ Bover. Venue: Beach promenade

9 p.m. Castellers of Majorca. Authentic human towers that rise up towards the sky. Venue: Plaza de la Pinada, Santa Ponça 10 p.m. Nit de foc. The demons from the Factoria de So Demons breathing fire, magical beasts, witches, music and fun guarantee a great time for all. Venue: Santa Ponça Beach promenade (Calle Balneari). PLEASE NOTE: Participants and spectators must follow the safety measures which are available for consultation at the information point in Plaza de la Pinada. 11.30 p.m. Performance by the group BOC Folk music with hardcore, new age, metal and ska influences. 8 p.m. Events to commemorate the 786th anniversary of the landing of the King En Jaume Attended by senior members of the autonomous and municipal governments. The events will include the reading of the festival proclamation. Venue: Santa Ponça Cross 10 p.m. Comedy night in the square with Julio a Secas, Tom Trovador and Carlitos acting as master of ceremonies Ends: 12 midnight
Friday 11Th
Medieval Market. Day-long programme of activities for children and families. Venue: Santa Ponça Beach promenade Opening times: 12 noon – 12 midnight 7.30 p.m. Els Escamots Dance. Traditional dance with sticks in which representatives of the various collas or groups take part. 8 p.m. Parade of the Moors. Route: Starting from Plaza de la Pinada in Santa Ponça, the procession makes its way along Gran Vía Puig de Galatzó, as far as the roundabout before returning to the square along the beach promenade (Calle Balneari). 9.30 p.m. Dinner in the camps. Pa i taleca. Events include a table decoration competition and medieval tents in the camp area. Venue: Plaza de la Pinada, Santa Ponça 10.30 p.m. Concert La movida band: The greatest hits from the Madrid music scene of the 80s and 90s Without String: A tribute performance to the finest funky, pop rock, soul, blues and disco sounds.
