The main financial instrument to implement the initiatives laid down by the law is “the regional fund for the cinema and audiovisual media”, the first truly European film fund in Italy with an overall allocation of 45 million euros for the three years 2011•2013.

The NEW Film Fund
The Fund has a total budget of 45 million euros for the years 2011 to 2013. In particular, it is sustained the productions : • that , within current year , will devote 40% of its cinematographic and audiovisual content in the Lazio Region;
• will be qualified as a cultural product (based on a specific cultural eligibility test).

The NEW Film Fund
For 2011 the fund has provided support for the production of: • works made in 2011 • productions that had 40% of below the line expenses incurred in Lazio Region The 2011 Fund has provided a reimbursement of • From 10 to 15% of the costs below the line incurred in Lazio Region • Up to 50% of production costs in case of small productions (total budget less than 50 thousand euros) • Up to 10% of expenditure incurred in Lazio Region studios (i.e. Cinecittà)

Some figures on those who applied for 2011 Fund •156 applications from film and audiovisual projects, distributed into: – 65 audiovisual projects (fiction,film tv, doc series, experimental works, cross-media) – 91 film projects Among these: _ 114 Projects have been accepted for funding ( 61 cinema productions and 53 audiovisual projects ) • A total of 260 million euros mobilised for production
