PHOTO COMPETITION

A huge thank you to everyone who entered our photo competition to feature on the front of our 2023 Holiday Guide. With so many fantastic entries choosing a winner was no easy task! After much deliberation our judges selected a winner and two runners up.

Congratulations to Ian Shearsmith for the winning image taken at Grasmere.

Ian says: “We were on a walk around Grasmere while staying in the area. My grandson was amazed by the reflections in the lake, so his father led him in a little way. A future Lakeland lover we hope.”

Congratulations to our runners up:

Reflections in Buttermere by Gillian Easterbrook

Gillian says: “Buttermere is my favourite place in the Lake District and holds happy memories of visiting there with my late daughter. This photograph was taken on a beautiful morning in August this year when the reflections in the lake were stunning.”

Sunrise from Catbells by Scott Lynan

Scott says: “One of the best mornings in the lakes I’ve had…I remember running up Catbells and just managing to get to the spot I wanted just in time. Cloud inversion too - it was brilliant.”
