WELCOME TO WORSHIP

RESPONSE Go, My Children, — arr. Walter Pelz Go, my children, with my blessing, never alone; waking, sleeping, I am with you, you are my own. In my love’s baptismal river I have made you mine forever. Go, my children, with my blessing, you are my own. Go, my children, fed and nourished, closer to me; grow in love and love by serving, joyful, and free. Here my Spirit’s power filled you, here his tender comfort stilled you; go, my children, fed and nourished, joyful and free. The congregation is invited to sing: I, the Lord, will bless and keep you, and give you peace. I, the Lord, will smile upon you, and give you peace. I the Lord will be your Father, Saviour, Comforter and Brother; Go, my children, I will keep you, and give you peace.

FOURTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST • SEPTEMBER 11, 2022 • 11:00AM

THE COMMUNITY GATHERS The prelude signifies the beginning of worship. You are invited to be in a spirit of prayer and meditation. Please silence all mobile communication devices. †

THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

(Children, kindergartners through third grade, are invited to exit the Sanctuary for Children’s Worship. Children will return to reserved pews in the Sanctuary at the close of worship.)

CALL TO WORSHIP Almighty God, who called your Church to bear witness that you were in Christ reconciling the world to yourself: help us to proclaim the good news of your love, that all who hear it may be drawn to you; through him who was lifted up on the cross, and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

HYMN OF PROCESSION #139 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty — LOBE DEN HERREN

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen.

GLORIA PATRI #71 Glory Be to the Father — GREATOREX Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

PRESENTATION OF BIBLES We rejoice in this step in your journey with God. We pray God will guide you, your family, and us as you use this Holy Bible in your home, in your church school classes, and in our worship. We will learn together and grow in our love for God’s word.
