CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

PARTNER WITH US TO HELP FEED KIDS IN WINSTON-SALEM

With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, we will be sending more food home with children to help make up the difference during the school breaks. In addition to partnering with the Backpack Program organized by Second Harvest Food Bank, we will be sending bags of food home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please consider a financial donation to help make this possible. If you’re interested or have questions, please contact Anna Thomas (athomas@centenary-ws.org/ext. 1332).

ANGEL TREE HELPERS NEEDED

Starting this Wednesday, Angels will be ready to be adopted from trees around the church! If you are interested in helping us with this amazing opportunity to show God’s love to kids in our city, besides adopting angels, we are looking for people to help others choose and adopt angels on Sunday mornings, organize gifts and pick up assistance! Contact Anna Thomas (athomas@centenary-ws. org/ext. 1332) for more information.

CHARGE CONFERENCE

For a third season, we are partnering with the Winston Salem Street School for the Twin City Conference, a Senior High Boys basketball league. Our first game will be November 12, 2024, at 6:00 pm (vs. WSSS) at Fulton YMCA with the season ending in a tournament on January 28, 2025 (just in time for school spring sports).

If you are a Senior High boy (9th-12th grade) and NOT on your school’s varsity basketball team, we invite you to be part of our church basketball team and this amazing league (and yes, friends are welcome too!). The cost to join the league will be $50 and you must be registered to play. Contact Tammy Pollock, Director of Youth Ministries for more information. Watch your weekly Youth email blast for ways you can register.

CONFIRMATION 2025

Centenary will hold its annual Charge Conference on Sunday, November 10 at 12:45 pm. The business of the charge conference will include setting salaries for the four appointed clergy and approving the lay leadership for Centenary for the coming year. The voting members of the Charge Conference are members of the Church Council, the lay delegates to the annual conference, and retired clergy for whom Centenary holds their charge conference membership. Members of the church may attend the meeting. To register for the lunch following the 11:00 worship service, and preceding the meeting, they must be received no later than Sunday, November 3 at 12:00 noon, by calling or emailing Stacy Holley (sholley@ centenary-ws.org/ext. 1359).

Starting on January 8, 2025 (through May 18), we invite all 7th graders to join our Confirmation class. We will meet each Wednesday night from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm to learn about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the spiritual life, and how they form us and help us to change the way we live our lives. The hope is that through these experiences, you will come to encounter Jesus in a very real way and that encounter will change the way you live your life! For more information contact Tammy Pollock (tpollock@centenary-ws.org).
