GATHERING MUSIC GREETING OPENING PRAYER Lift us up, O Lord, that we may see your face As we proclaim Your glory May Your light shine from us Even in times of trouble Remind us of your presence When fear overwhelms our faith Remind us of your peace When doubt is all we know Give us the courage to still seek you We thank you, O Lord, for knowing all that we are and still calling us beloved.

HYMN
PRAYER OF DEDICATION Loving God, without You we would be nothing. Help us to give back to others in the way that you have given to us. Your love guides us, protects us, and models for us the ways in which we are called to live. All that we are and all that we have is yours. May our offerings be just part of what we give to you this day and always, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

WE GO AS GOD’S PEOPLE INTO THE WORLD HYMN
†
How do other people greet us as we journey through our days? Do we hope that they will meet us with a word of thanks or praise? Do we seek congratulations for the kind of life we lead? Do we want their admiration for the things that we believe? May we never burden others with a faith that’s hard to bear. Make us kind to one another; make us humble in our prayer. As we give up seats of honor, may we give you glory too. Lord, you teach us to be humble; may we humbly follow you.

#581 Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service — BEACH SPRING
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
†
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Lord, You Teach Us to Be Humble — NETTLETON Lord, you teach us to be humble in the things we do and say so that others will not stumble or, discouraged, turn away. For a faith that’s lived for glory, full of bragging, full of show, cannot tell the gospel story that your people know.
