Established in the UK in 1976, we are now an international multidisciplinary consultancy, operating from 25 locations across the globe with over 950 people. Our award-winning practice has been established in Poland for over 5 years with offices in Warsaw and Wrocław. We offer an end-to-end service, extending from initial planning to construction fit-out, plus lifetime facilities management.

Civil engineering is one of our core services and covers all sectors of the construction industry. We help to create, improve and protect the environment in which we live. We provide facilities for day-to-day life, and for transport and industry to function effectively.

Our mission is to help design sustainable buildings which are more energy efficient and cost-effective to operate. Integration with our in-house civil and structural engineering and specialist teams enables us to devise the best possible solutions to ensure our clients’ buildings are holistic, sustainable and futureproof.

This starts at the top, forming an important part of leadership forums, where progress activities are reviewed. The ongoing activities are led by a group of Partners across offices and disciplines, supported by wider discipline-specific technical committees. This includes a combination of encouragement of excellence and innovation, knowledge sharing, and maintaining standards through our QA processes. We take development and improvement so seriously and that we have implemented our own Diploma scheme. Regional project highlights


Mikołowska Office Centre Poland, Katowice

The Mikołowska office centre is an exciting new office situated in Katowice on Mikołowska Street. The building offers Class A office spaces in the Shell & Core standard with common space on the office floors consisting of a staircase, lift cluster, common sanitary accommodation for tenants, and lift lobby, as well as an outside terrace. Cundall was responsible for delivering full scope of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services and performing LEED v4 BD+C Core and Shell certification at Gold level which ensures the building is highly efficient and cost-effective.

At Level -1 there are eight no. parking spaces equipped with charging outlets dedicated for electric vehicles, 18 marked parking spaces for low-emission vehicles and 18 parking spaces for carpool vehicles. The building consists of six aboveground levels offering ~18 000 m² of gross leasable area and two underground levels.

Nowy Targ

Poland, Wrocław

Skanska’s Nowy Targ is a seven storey office building with a two level underground carpark located in the center of Wrocław. Impressive design, accessibility to public transport and diverse neighborhood makes this project attractive for employees. GFA is ~30,000m² and includes offices and retail units on the ground floor level. Cundall was the LEED Assessor for this project and was responsible for the coordination of the construction part of the certification.

Collaboration between the design team and stakeholders resulted in a Platinum Level rating which was achieved in the first construction submission. The brief outlined a sustainable design approach and Cundall was able to implement solutions which allowed the reduction of 40% potable water consumption, energy efficient equipment applied to maintain the building and the enhanced commissioning which resulted in 26.5% savings for total energy costs in accordance to ASHRAE 90.1 Standard from 2007.

The building has been built by the experienced contractor under ISO14001 regime, which also controlled the source of materials, their regionality and impact on workers and occupants’ health (low VOC). Project is Platinum certified in LEED BD+C: Core and Shell v3 – 2009.



PINEA Resort & Apartments Poland, Pobierowo

PINEA Resort & Apartments is a new luxury complex located by the seaside. The complex will include three buildings (A,B,C) – luxury apartments with full ownership (building C – currently on sale), a condo hotel (building B), a swimming, fitness and SPA area and a hotel from the renowned HILTON chain (building A). All buildings will be connected by an underground passage and green courtyards. All buildings will include sustainable, modern and high efficiency MEP systems. For example, a method has been proposed that collects, stores and uses rainwater for watering plants.

Cundall is also a consultant in heat dissipation simulation for the cooling units located on the roof. During the project, potential acoustic issues have been raised with regards to vertical balcony covers or detailed and customized designs of the apartments dedicated to be sold to individual investors (for rent) the total net area is c.a. 26 000 m² Phase One of the project is aiming to be completed in 2021 with phase two nearing completion in 2023.

Getin Noble Bank Poland, Warszawa

The Warsaw HUB Office Complex is located next to Rondo Daszyńskiego, one of the city’s main communication hubs. The complex consists of three buildings which offers over 110 000m² of office and hotel space. Cundall was responsible for delivering the detailed fit-out design for Getin Noble Bank’s office . The design included full scope of mechanical, electrical and public health services. Tenants premises were located in Building C, Levels 6-17, area c.a. 15 250 m² and included the open-space office area, circulation, conference rooms, main server and cross rooms.

Santander Bank Polska Poland, Wrocław

Santander Bank Polska Office is a seven storey building with two underground level car parks located in the industrial center of Wrocław. The Gross Floor Area (GFA) is 17000m². It was designed for the primary usage of Investor who are leaders in the financial sector. There is a retail area on the ground level occupied by various food service providers. Cundall has performed the role of leading LEED consultant and energy modeler on the behalf of Investor.

Clear communication and cooperation with other consultants and designers resulted in a smooth process without any major conflicts. Positive knowledge sharing between all parties involved has driven the team to success – Silver level was the initial goal. A sustainable way of design was promoted throughout. Due to the sustainable approach, the design has included solutions which allowed the reduction of potable water consumption by 46% (grey and rainwater services). Energy efficient equipment applied to maintain the building and the enhanced commissioning resulted in ~33% savings for energy demand in accordance with ASHRAE 90.1
