o travel, to get away, is a form of romance. Every summer, my inspiration for love and life is found in the depths of Capri. Each departure is the sweetest goodbye, tempered only by the joy I find in the
special pieces I bring home with me. It is a sanctuary. A place that words cannot do justice. As one of the world’s most wondrous inspirations, Capri is the captor of my heart and will continue to shine through in my design choices for years to come.
As Editor in Chief of Curated Living Magazine, it is with great pleasure to have curated this shopping guide. This is your first stamp on a passport of an eclectic series of shopping guides inspired by my travels. Let’s share together this journey and discover “Home, Anywhere”.

I
love the breakfast at the Quisisana! Wander down to the pool and enjoy the spread of fresh juices, artisan cheeses and hams, eggs and fresh fruit the hotel bountifully offers. Be certain to set up
your wake up call, as the blackout shades in each
of these rooms, efficiently live up to their name. Opportunities to stay up until dawn are abundant, so you may find you escape the challenge of having to wake up as breakfast may arrive before you seek the refuge of your bed.
POOL AND BREAKFAST AT THE QUISISANA
GOZZO
Stroll to the nearest taxi stand by the Piazzetta and enjoy a ride in an open air taxi down to the Marina Grande where your private gozzo and captain will be waiting to navigate your tour through the grottos around the island. There are a few essentials for your aquatic adventure, chief among them wine or champagne… or both. You can easily purchase your favorite selections from the shop at the marina upon arrival, or simply give your captain your request in advance. This added convenience ensures your captain is aware of your tastes and has your choice of refreshment on hand to meet your expectations. Upon entering the marina, the incomparable breeze will call out to you as a siren’s song…seducing you to quench your thirst for life and pour your first glass of champagne, perhaps with a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice.
BAGNI DI TIBERIO
Along the way, you will behold cliffs that will you leave you awe struck. You may recall the legend that these cliffs once served as diving platforms to the gods, as you witness men and women paying homage with each plunge. It is an incredible feat to watch – the ultimate experience in letting go - diving into the crystal blue unknown from the lofty plateau. There are many grottos to explore, but my favorite is the Grotta Azzurro. The water reflects shades of blue that, I assure you, only exist in this locale.

SGROPPINO
After a morning of cliff jumping and swimming in grottos we seek refreshment at my favorite place to enjoy lunch - Bagni Tiberio, The Emperor’s Beach. You simply haven’t lived until you have enjoyed the 7-10 course meal, delicately coaxed into existence by the genius of the chef at “Tiberio”. It is a journey for the senses! The Spaghetti alle Vongole which is the perfect spaghetti with fresh clams comes with my highest recommendation and is not to be missed. The meal is incomplete without ending it with a glass of Sgroppino, the most refreshing drink to ever pass my lips. This delightful aperitif contains champagne, chilled vodka, frozen lemon sorbet and fresh mint leaves. Salute!

After an amazing three hour lunch, we board the gozzo and continue our leisurely cruise around the island. A visit to the Grotta di Amore is a must, where once inside you must share a kiss with your special someone or your travel companion. The best way to finish this afternoon is to allow yourself the luxury of a peaceful nap, which will prove to be exactly what you need to recharge before a fabulous night on the town. Take a stroll around town and enjoy the luxury stores, buy a pair of handmade sandals then walk to my favorite linen store, 100% Capri and get the finest linen clothing and home goods one can buy in the true spirit of Capri.

After some shopping you are ready for your first cocktail. The best evenings begin with a cocktail on the steps of the Quisisana hotel. Quisi Bar and Krug provide a venue for some of the absolute best people watching in the world. Order a glass of champagne or a cocktail. Be prepared, as they come with a heavy pour of spirits to fill the glass, served with a lovely side cart hosting your choice of juice, accompanied by salty chips, green olives and nuts all presented beautifully, of course. Da Paolino Lemon Trees Restaurant is an incredible reflection of the natural beauty of Capri. This establishment also has spectacular food coupled with the most beautiful lemon trees creating a majestic, cascading canopy over the tables and chairs. The aromas are intoxicating, the source of which is provided by a cursory glance above to see what I like to call, “larger than life lemons.� When life gives you lemons like these, you make limoncello!
