WELCOME TO THE FEBRUARY CURVZ MAGAZINE ISSUE February in New York is always one of the coldest months of the year but I can proudly say that we produced a hot and steamy issue this month! I will like to thank Mikey Jay for assisting in casting models and location setting. Full Figure model Malinda Bell “Yumyum” sweetly sizzled in the spotlight as our feature and the beautiful model Red Storm heated up the pages in her leopard attire. Each girl was the epitome of fashion, fun, and of coursecurves. Models Dee Dee and Nina Martinez kept it hot like fire so there is no doubt in my mind you will enjoy this issue as much as I do. Brown Starr shined as a model and was a huge contributing factor in styling the models with her jewelry line Twisted Treatzz. All these elements combined together made an explosive Curvz Issue. Many people played an influential part in bringing this issue together that I would like to acknowledge. Without a great team, it takes longer to accomplish a goal so my sincere thanks to the key players who were the glue: Quentin Cockrell for his professionalism and styling, photographer Ivory Jackson for coming through in a clench and delivering winning pictures, and photographer Dee Mack for coming through and helping me out I appreciate you all. -Big Moe, CEO and Editor–in-Chief

Fashion TOP TEN RULES OF ACCESSORIZING Written by Malinda Bell

1. As much as we like to accessorize and look glamorous, remember to never over-do it. Unless you are on a photo-shoot, keep it to a minimum so that you are not inappropriate, scattered, or overshadowing the other accessories and yourself. People become distracted when they have too much to look at. 2. Accessorizing should compliment your body scale. This is a rule that can be broken, but consider smaller to medium size jewelry for a short or petite body size, and medium to large accessories if you are taller or more full figure. 3. Remember to harmonize. Make sure that your pieces integrate with your clothing in perspective to texture, season, weight, and style. For instance, wear light, dainty earrings and strappy sandals with a summer floral dress. As opposed to wearing bold door-knocker earrings, a gold rope chain, and black leather boots with a summer dress. 4. If your outfit has a lot of detail. Make sure your jewelry is simple. If you are wearing a solid color, you can wear jewelry and belts with more detail and color. 5. Big up your glam factor with sparkly statement rings, chocker necklaces or a bold cuff bracelet. 6. Rings are an awesome way to show your style- make sure to lotion your hands and that your nails are manicured. 28 Curvz February 2014

7. Belts are a great way to add contrast and create an hourglass silhouette by placing over the waist of boxy sweaters or jackets. 8. When wearing sunglasses, keep them in proportion to your face. Aviator sunglasses are excellent for any face shape. 9. Shopping for accessories doesn’t have to be expensive. Shop at flea markets, go through your grandmother’s jewelry box for brooches, or make your own necklaces or bracelets! 10. Accessories are great! Show your style! Remember to have fun and experiment.
