Why Did You Really Come Back? Do We Really Need To Remain Friends?

Dear Lady M, I hope you can help me with this little issue. I dated a guy for about six months. We broke up but when we did I have to admit I just got tired of some of the silliness and I “kinda cut him off”. We recently established contact not too long ago. We kept the meeting simple. We had an appetizer and a meal. We basically talked about why we stopped dating and cleared the air. Neither one of us were mad at each other. I think that he realized what the issues were but just was not ready to talk about it. His situation has seemed to change and has made improvements in his life that are for the better. During the meeting he acted like where he just left off and was even showing affection. In the end he finally admitted that has a new person in his life but according to him and I quote “ It is not that serious”. Well hint hint you both live together! For me it is “just that serious”. So Lady M do I remain a platonic friend with this guy (an occasional phone call and a dinner sometimes) or do I just leave it alone? Signed LOVE Him Or LEAVE him ALONE Dear LLA: This is typical in male/female relationships and you are not the first to pose this little “problem”. I’m glad that you cleared the air about your relationship but truthfully you did not bring closure to the relationship. There are a few factors to think about. Have you moved on? Do you now have someone in your life? If so how would your current boyfriend really feel about you having that level of contact with this guy! Ask yourself what can he really bring to your life at this point? If it were really that important for the two of you to remain friends, I would take a phone call sometimes and watch the conversations. You should not be the one he is calling to complain about his “new boo” or make reference on how they live their relationship or take the walk down memory lane to wind up being the side chick! Going out for dinner is not a good idea. He needs to take her out not you especially if your not dating anyone. The fact that he avoided to tell you he lives with someone and says, “ is not serious” speaks volumes in itself. I’m sure she is not a roommate! Sometimes we as people we tend to be “nice” and still get “hurt” in the end. I do believe that ex’s can maintain a relationship but you have to know your tolerance level and establish healthy boundaries. Think about What YOU Won’t DO For LOVE! Good Luck and think about you first because he seems to be just fine! LOL!

HOW LADIES CAN TURN WATCHING SPORTS INTO A FUN SEXUAL EXPERIENCE JUST BY LEARNING THE GAME.

ello everyone, welcome to ravens nest. I know so much is going on, and spending one on one time with the one you love is almost impossible with work, the kids and so much to do, it’s like the weekend is your best shot at any quality time together but wait, you still feel like you have to compete with your worst enemy sports. All you know is it’s game time and all you feel good for is making him a snack tray. You see is him having a good times watching the game hitting his buddies up like did you see that runback… and your left there feeling lonely and dumbfounded cause you have no idea what your looking at or what the hell he’s talking about. So while football season is over here’s your chance to learn the game and get ready for the up coming season cause it will be back before you know it. Ladies I know how it can be, you get into a fuss over nothing and feel like sports is more important than you, so your piss! He’s thinking what’s wrong with this chick and your day is jack up over nothing. Well I’m here to tell you a simple way to change all that. Stop being so whack and learn to love what your man enjoys, and watch him come to life right before your eyes. There is nothing more sexier than a women who knows about sports and on the flip side of that there is nothing that will turn a guy off quick like a women who act like it’s the worst thing in the world for her man to enjoy a weekend of sports… So I’m her to help you ladies understand that you can make watching sports well in this case watching football just as fun for you as for him. I feel when you love someone you got to love some of the things they enjoy also. So if your man loves football try doing the following, now these steps are best followed while he’s not watching the game. There is nothing worst then someone asking you questions while your watching your favorite program ladies you know how we feel when watching a good tearjerker or the soaps, so just keep that in mind. Make sure the timing is right. Now once you start learning the game and you just ask questions that doesn’t take that much explaining then it’s find to ask him a question about something you saw or heard during the game. Ok here is how I would start off hey baby what team do you rep, then once you learn the answer ask him who is his favorite player, if the name is to hard for you to remember at the time learn the number. This way your already on point and know that when you see his team is in the line up to play that day your

man will be watching so get ready. Now ladies there are so many terms in football it maybe hard to keep up with at first but you will get there in no time believe me. I knew nothing about football until I met my first boyfriend who I loved to death and he played football so his passion became mine because of the love I had for him, needless to say he’s long gone now but my love for football is still going strong, what he taught me about the game was priceless and he only taught me because I told him I wanted to know and learn all about what makes him so happy beside me. See this lets him know hey she’s really into me and cares enough to want to know what’s goes on in my world this makes him feel good and since most men who watch the game thinks their coaching it to. lol they love to be the one to explain it to ya, just watch his face as he tell you how it works. But for now here are some basic terms you can learn. FOOTBALL TERMS YOU CAN LEARN TO TURN INTO AN EROTIC EXPERIENCE.............. UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS - An illegal play where a player, in the judgment of the officials, uses tactics that are above and beyond what is necessary to block or tackle another player. FIELD GOAL - A scoring play worth three points that involves a placekicker kicking the ball through the uprights of the goalpost in the opponent’s end zone from anywhere on the field. WIDE RECEIVER - An offensive player who lines up on or near the line of scrimmage, but split to the outside. His primary job is to catch passes from the quarterback. END ZONE - A 10-yard section stretching the width of the field at both ends of the playing field. TOUCHDOWN - A scoring play in which any part of the ball, while legally in the possession of a player who is in-bounds, crosses the plane of the opponent’s goal line. FOOTBALL TERMS I FEEL IS MOST IMPORTANT AND FUN IN SEDUCING YOUR MAN. 1. UNNECESSARY ROUGHNESS- unlike in football you want the roughness I’m not talking about killing each other. lol but being demanding and showing a lil aggression their is nothing wrong with. As long as you both are willing so tell him to go hard or go home. Say something like dam baby I’m about to throw a flag for unnecessary roughness your deep in the end zone. This can only turn him on more its like my baby is talk football smack to me and she knows what’s she is talking about but your going to have to be willing to go hard also ladies. He’s going to try to score the first time he gets the ball but ladies you have to put up a good defense so it won’t be so easy for him, make him work for points. And this some times calls for unnecessary roughness on your part.

MARCH 2012 / CURVZ 9

2. FIELD GOAL- Ok ladies your legs are the goalpost his tongue is the ball. He has to do one long lick from the bottom of the kitty to the top then its his turn he has his legs as the goalpost and you have to do the same to him from the bottom of the testicle to the tip of the penis. Then after you’re both done you have to look each other in the eyes and say its good! This is sure to bring a smile to you both. 3. WIDE RECEIVER- ladies tell your man the QB that you want the ball thrown to you, get on the bed or whatever surface your field will be and get into the wide receiver position back, side, stomach it does not matter what ever the case just make sure your wide open and ready to receive what ever it is he’s going to deliver just don’t drop the ball. 4. END ZONE - Ask him as you sit there and halftime is about to start does he want to play with your end zone during the break, this will get him arouse and ready to hear more dirty talk call audible on him meaning change the play on him by doing or saying something he wouldn’t think you would do. Start telling him what you want to do to him and throw in some football terms like I would love to sack your sexy ass right now, come on what guy will turn down his lady saying something hot and sexy like that and your looking good to. That’s a must you cant turn on a light more less your man look jack up ladies keep it right from head to toe, make him ask where are you going looking so good and you say to the game I’m watching it with you all this is for my baby. This makes you both feel good about each other it great he notice you and its great that you took the time to look your best for your man. See this can be fun for the both of you. If you do this he will be in your end zone in no time that’s your spot when he reach the end zone you will let him know cause there is something special about this place screams comes out cheers, spasms anything could happen in the end zone so guys keep your helmets on and shoulder pads cause the claws come out in the zone. Lol 5. TOUCHDOWN- Its simple when you have a orgasm your man has made a touchdown. When you feel that feeling happening tell your man touchdown baby, lets him know he scored. Enjoy the moment he may want to spike the ball or do a victory dance. After the touchdown is where the field goal come in. The key is learning about the game and loving your man enough to spice up your love life. It’s a plus if you can get it right. Just try it and try to understand your man needs down time just like you do. So instead of hating on him hit on him. Set your TV room up like a sports bar have some football stuff around (any dollar store sells it) make hotdogs or whatever he likes get some drinks for the both of you, were his favorite football team colors if you don’t have your own team, look good and smell sweet oh and when it’s game time and he comes in, he will be shock, happy and horny all at the same time. Sit down with him introduce your self and began to watch the game with him, show him you got skills and you know what your watching show him your into it. He will be impress and began to look at you in a new light then when you see halftime is coming up it’s time to put into place ravens helpful hints ok ladies and gents I hope this help someone we learn more about the other term later on so stay close to the nest good luck, this is ravens calling a time out.......

Phatshion with Malynda Sexy Little Curves

L

adies, the time has come for us to undress those curves to show that secret beauty that we all have even with a couple of phat rolls here and there! Some of us curvy girls, including myself, shy away from revealing our bodies without our armor on (spanxs, bras, control top panties, body shapers. ECT…) Because of society’s idea of the perfect woman, we often feel the need to hide our bodies instead of embracing our sensuality. The fact remains that it is time for us plus size women to forget about those stereotypes and let the world see our sexy little curves. What better way to show those beautiful curves than by putting on your confidence, sexy lingerie, some high heels and *in my Beyonce singing voice* now pose for the camera “Flick Flick”.

12 CURVZ / MARCH 2012

Yes, I want you to take pictures. Believe me! You will be in love with the outcome. I know you are saying to yourself, “Who will take these pictures and capture my curves in the best light?” Well stop thinking about it. I have the perfect person for you. Allow me to introduce Mrs. Lisa Fleet, CEO of Glamorous Diva Photography. I discovered Mrs. Fleet about a year or two ago while surfing the net doing research for sexy images of plus size woman. After seeing the photos of all the beautiful curvy woman (regular woman not models), my mouth dropped. I knew I had to get her in my portfolio. Recently, I had the pleasure of chatting it up with Lisa about how she makes the magic happen with Glamorous Divas. Lisa

comes from a family of photographers so it was only natural that she picked up the talent. After receiving a phone call from a close girl friend with a request for some sexy photos, something like what Kim K. did for Reggie Bush… OH LA LA!, let’s just say $70.00 and a 12 hour photo shoot later, Glamorous Diva was born. She worked hard for that money while enjoying every minute of it. Every since then she has been shooting professionally for 3 years. Besides money and the passion for photography, Lisa loves the creativity of the shoots, meeting new clients, but most of all, help-

ing the ladies with self-esteem and confidence during their session. As I was going through the photos on her website, the one thing I couldn’t help but notice was that everyone looked like a model with HELLA confidence. So you know I had to ask her how in the world she gets those lovely ladies to take model like pictures. To my surprise, Lisa said she sends some posing ideas by email before the shoot. She might give a little direction but a lot comes from the client’s energy. I believe Lisa also is able to take beautiful photos of curvettes because she is a plus size woman who loves her God given curves and knows how to click the camera at the right moment. If you are ever in the DC, Maryland, Virginia area, please treat yourself to the Glamorous Divas Boudoir experience with Lisa Fleet. Remember, real women have curves so don’t be afraid to show them to the world! P.S. Never forget to select pieces that are flattering to your figure! Don Cornelius

THE HIPPEST TRIP IN AMERICA

ello everyone and welcome to this months The Listening Room. I decided to pay respects to the late Don Cornelius. I felt that this would be most fitting for Mr. Cornelius who was so influential in the realm of music. Besides where would Black America be with out our beloved Soul Train? As I read an e-mail on my cell phone on my way to work on February 1st. I first read Don Cornelius died early that morning. My first response was WOW we lost another one to music heaven. The image in my mind was one of my favorite Soul Train episodes when the late Teena Marie made her debut appearance on Soul Train. Then as I read the article further I read the cause of death was a self-inflicted gun wound. My heart dropped because suicide was the cause. I continued to think about this and the thought of why a man so great, who had contributed so much in life, was so unhappy? Here is some information and my personal

24 CURVZ / MARCH 2012

thoughts about Don Cornelius. Don Cornelius was born Donald Cortez Cornelius on September 27th 1936 in Chicago. Mr. Cornelius was not always the host of Soul Train or in the media industry. Mr. Cornelius began a career in sales after he served in the United States Marine Corp. Don actually sold cars, tires, and insurance. Mr. Cornelius was even a police officer with the Chicago Police Department. In 1966 married with two children he decided to take a course in Broadcasting. That same year Mr. Cornelius was hired as an announcer, DJ and news reporter with radio station WVON. In 1968 Mr. Cornelius joined TV and hosted a news program called A Black’s View of the News. Three years later Soul Train was born which started out as a daily local show. In 1971 Soul Train went into syndication and moved to California. The vision Don Cornelius had was that there was a true absence of soul music on

TV. The creation of Soul Train enabled African Americans exposure to African American artist. As we all know American Band stand took a long time to show case black artist on their show. As a child watching Soul Train I was into the music and the dancing. I got my best dance moves from the show. As an older adult watching Soul Train, we grew, evolved and matured together. For me as an older adult I was able to have a better appreciation for the show and it was just not the dance or the music. The impression that Don Cornelius left with me was that Soul Tran was not just a ‘Black American Bandstand.” Don Cornelius was a man with a vision who exposed all races to “urban fashion”. He was able to introduce Americans to all styles of music and show that everyone whether white or black you had “soul”. What I admire most about Don was how he was able to expose America to Black Hair Care products. Afro Sheen was one of the most groundbreaking commercials that were shown during the hour of Soul Train. For African Americans this was a symbol of being black and proud.

Motown Old School sound; nevertheless he embraced it and helped these artists move forward. The look of Soul Train today may have a little different look but the Don formula has not changed. In the 80’s Mr. Cornelius suffer brain issues and had major surgery to correct the problem. He took off six months and then came back in 83 and began taping shows again. In the end Mr. Cornelius stepped down from his seat and Shemar Moore began hosting the show. Mr. Cornelius remained involved with Soul Train and it aspect to the end. The news reports are claims that his suicide could be due to a nasty divorce and failing health issues. So with that said I again ask a man so great who had so much why was he so unhappy? We can suspect but we will never know! All I can say is thank you Mr. Cornelius for the mark you have left on African American music. I thank you for personally enriching my life with music and showing me to appreciate good “soul music” Don Cornelius I will always Soul Train line at a party. But most of all I wish you Much LOVE PEACE AND NEVERENDING SOUL!

Don Cornelius was a man that was able to see way beyond and he did not remain in the past. He evolved with the changes in music. Where American Bandstand appeared to be progressive. Don and Soul Train embraced the emergence of HIP HOP by showcasing, Salt and Pepa, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J and many others. This was new to the man who was used to the
