Comfort

What Makes Mustang Seats So Comfortable? Mustang believes that, with a well designed seat, there is no reason to be uncomfortable. You should always enjoy your ride - whether five miles or all day. Mustang seats are meticulously designed so that the baseplate, foam and cover components combine to make the finest, most comfortable seat possible.

Baseplates: Depending on the design of the seat, baseplates are made of either steel or

fiberglass. All baseplates are designed and manufactured at the Mustang plant in New England.

Formed 16 gauge steel baseplates are black epoxy powder coated on both sides for complete rust proofing. Carpet protects the fender paint.

Polyurethane bumpers are strategically located and riveted to the baseplate to prevent it from touching the frame and fender and to minimize vibration.

Exposed brackets are bright chrome plated

Marine-grade fiberglass baseplates are 3/16â&#x20AC;? thick, marine grade fiberglass, finished in high gloss gel coat.

Edges of all baseplates have a steel reinforced, impact absorbing vinyl edge trim to protect the seat cover. Mustangâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s unique internal steel support wings are added to the baseplate to provide maximum passenger comfort. These wings support the entire width of the molded foam. This feature is found on most Mustang touring seats.

Foam: All foam is compounded and molded at our New England facility. Controlled density polyurethane foam provides all-day comfort. Mustang seats are known for retaining their shape and support after years of use.

Cover:

The exact shape, angle and density of each seat foam is formulated and cast to be soft enough for comfort and resilient enough to stand up to those â&#x20AC;&#x153;thousand mileâ&#x20AC;? days.

All covers are designed, cut and sewn at our New England facility.

Covers are made of the highest quality expanded vinyl available. They have the appearance of leather but the durability and resistance to the elements that exceed original equipment standards for motorcycle seats. All seams are sewn twice for strength. The bottom edge that holds the cover to the baseplate is hemmed where the rivets hold the cover to the baseplate. The edges of seat skirts are finished with braid. Decorative studs are chromeplated brass, not steel, and will never rust. Conchos are custom heavy diecast zinc and are hand tied with genuine leather straps. Our fringe is vat dyed leather so that the color goes all the way through. Regal styles are tufted with covered buttons which are double tied with four cords, not two. Mustang seats do not lose their buttons. 8

Covered Hard Saddlebags

A truly unique look in hard saddlebags! Mustangâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s unique skirted lids feature braided edge trim, studs and conchos, as well as classic braided accents on the bags that evoke a nostalgic look. These flat-backed bags with recessed front corners for axle clearance are made of reinforced fiberglass and covered with our high quality expanded vinyl. Bags and lids feature a rubber seal to help make the bags ultra water resistant. The inside surface is lined with a durable feltlike material that is easy on the contents as well as the knuckles. Mustang Saddlebags are undrilled for a universal fit that will clear most exhaust systems. Mounting hardware is not included; see below. Turn signal relocation may be required on some models.

Pouch Tank Bibs Pouch Tank Bibs offer a custom look with sensible convenience. Pouches are lined with soft fabric and easily expand open. The flap is held tightly closed with hook and loop. Tank Bibs Handmade in New England, Tank Bibs are available plain or with studs and a concho. Contoured to hug the tank and felt-backed to protect the paint, these bibs utilize stock mounts for easy installation. The edges are finished with braid. Decorative studs are plated brass, not steel, and will never rust. Conchos are custom, heavy die cast zinc, not a think stamping, and are hand-tied with genuine leather straps. Tank Bibs with pouches are shown on page 97.
