Welcome to the third edition of Innovation and Technology in Transport – ITT Hub at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre.

We are all working toward a common goal: to reshape the transport industry and make net zero a reality through driving innovation, pioneering technology and leading partnerships.

Logistics UK

Logistics has had more than its fair share of challenges to grapple with in recent years, including Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, and an acute skills shortage. We’re now facing a new set of challenges – issues including double-digit inflation, waferthin margins, supply chain disruption and shifting geopolitical threats.

In my view there is one challenge that trumps all others – the urgent need for the industry to play its part in helping to avoid a climatic tipping point, by decarbonising at pace. This will involve close collaboration with other business sectors, notably the energy and manufacturing industries, as well as with government and academia, as well as changing behaviours across our sector.

Manufacturers are already designing and developing the cutting-edge vehicles that will underpin the change that our industry needs to see, while the energy sector is working on creating the infrastructure needed to power the switch to a lowcarbon economy. We can and must do things differently.

That is why shows like ITT Hub are so important. Now in its third year, it brings together major players from key business sectors that will shape the future of our industry.

Technology and innovation have a critical role to play in helping the transport industry to decarbonise. That is why I am delighted that Logistics UK is once again leading the Future Logistics Conference, an integral part of the ITT Hub show. We have assembled a group of insightful speakers to drive two days of thinking and debate and explore what the future may look like for our sector.

Cold Chain Hub by TCS&D

TCS&D (Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution) magazine is delighted to welcome you all to the second instalment of the Cold Chain Hub by TCS&D at Farnborough International.

Disabled facilities

There are accessible toilets across the show site and medical assistance from the onsite Medical Centre. While we do not allow animals on site, guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

EV charging

In partnership with Rolec, the Venue has 18 x 22kWh charging points available in Car Park 1 & 4. Once onsite, please follow the signs to the charging areas. Please ensure you bring your portable charging cable with you to connect directly to the Rolec unit. The monta app can be downloaded in advance to join the smart queue and save your place at one of the charge points.

Catering

There are several catering facilities across the show site. There is the EV Cafe supported by Geotab, myenergi, The AA, Churchill, EV Civils Solutions and PlugMeIn and the Cold Chain Hub Café both located in the exhibition hall as well as a Recharge café in the registration foyer. Drinking water is available from all catering outlets.

Arriving by taxi

Local taxi drivers are familiar with the access routes and are able to drop off at the venue. Taxis from outside the borough of Rushmoor must come through Gate F.

Arriving by rail

Farnborough Main is the primary station and is the quickest station to get to/from London Waterloo. A FREE electric shuttle bus direct to the venue runs to/from the station throughout the day.

Disabled access

There is a disabled car park onsite for blue badge holders. Access is via Gate F. Please display your blue badge in your car as you approach and you will be directed to the disabled car park. Spaces are first- come, first-served. Should all the spaces be full, you will be directed to an alternative car park. Please ensure your carer has also registered to attend the show.

There is free Wi-Fi in Hall 1.

First Aid

In the event of injury or illness, locate the Medical Centre within Hall 1 or contact any of the Organisers or Security Staff who will arrange assistance.

Emily Bailey, Project Manager, Transport for the South East

Emily joined Transport for the South East as a project manager in 2022. She is responsible for leading on the Regional Centre of Excellence development and implementation. This will provide support for local transport authorities to implement their Local Transport Plans, including quantifiable carbon reduction, business case development and a pipeline of schemes ready for implementation. Emily works within the programme team, ensuring successful engagement with a wide range of stakeholders is maintained.

Peter Bradley is the Managing Director of the UK Coach Operators Association (UKCOA), a trade body for coach operators run by coach operators which was launched in 2021. Peter has worked in the transport industry for over 40 years starting with London Transport / Transport for London in 1980, where he spent the majority of his career, latterly as Head of Consultation and Engagement. Juergen is the CTO of Ecooltec GmbH located in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. The company develops, manufactures and supplies refrigeration units for road transport applications using purely natural refrigerants.

Juergen holds a Ph.D. of the Institute of Refrigeration, Hannover University, Germany and is active in various national and international scientific committees as well as refrigeration associations. In his career Juergen has published more than 150 scientific papers and holds over 30 patents related to refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumping technologies. Juergen’s achievements were recognised multiple times including by the internationally respected J&E Gold Medal of the Institute of Refrigeration, London.

Andy Eastlake was appointed as the LowCVP’s Managing Director in April 2012, after serving both on the board and as chair of the members’ council for many years. Russell Fowler, Senior Manager in Transport Decarbonisation, National Grid Russell is the Senior Manager looking at National Grid’s role in transport decarbonisationfrom rapid EV charging to synthetic fuels for aviation. In previous roles at National Grid, E.ON and WE Russell: led the analysis for RIIO-2, National Grid ESO’s first price control, helping the ESO to be able to operate the system carbon free by 2025; led the production of the Future Energy Scenarios, electricity demand and was part of the Electricity Market Reform project setting up the first low carbon capacity and security of supply auctions. Russell also holds a PhD in mathematics from the University of Birmingham.

Bob leads the UK’s Department for Transport strategy on decarbonisation, developing and delivering policy across the entire transport system. I have worked for the for the Local Sustainable Transport Fund and was honoured to be leading on elements of the Go Ultra Low West project in the West of England. I was proud to be part of the Energy and Infrastructure team at leading law firm, Foot Anstey LLP, where I was able to see every side of the infrastructure debate from developer to landlord, local authority partnerships through to consultancy services. I am a believer in supporting all modes of transport for a sustainable future and my passion is in clean energy and zero emission mobility. Shahid Sheikh, Business Development Manager Hydrogen for Mobility, Air Products

Shahid is responsible for driving growth for the Hydrogen for Mobility business in the UKI, which is focused on supporting wholescale energy transition across the country. He will be working closely with national and local government and industry experts to support the Government’s drive towards a low-carbon hydrogen future, and help more organisations to achieve their sustainability targets by using green hydrogen.

Sheikh originally joined Air Products in January 2019 and has a wealth of commercial experience working within the energy industry focused on energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprint.
