Outstanding Digital Communication Campaigns Entries must include a two-page documentation package composed of: 1. A Background Paper that identifies the campaign’s internal information objective(s); identifies the target audience; summarizes actions taken to meet campaign objectives; and summarizes the campaign results. To help commemorate the 150th anniversary of the writing and delivery of the Gettysburg Address by our namesake President Abraham Lincoln, Sailors assigned to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln wrote their “part of history” by providing their words for the 150th anniversary of the writing and delivery of the Gettysburg Address, Nov. 19 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation in Springfield, Ill. More than a dozen Sailors submitted their essays to the Foundation, which were posted alongside other “272 words” written by past presidents, journalists and many others. In addition to the letters being displayed at the Foundation, the Daily Press and the Virginia Pilot also posted the essays online and in print, as well as interviewed several Sailors who wrote essays. In addition to writing “272 words” USS Abraham Lincoln’s Media Department also produced a video featuring 24 Sailors reciting the Gettysburg Address to commemorate the 16th president’s contribution to history. The recording was launched in tandem with the release of the “272 word” essays. The video received more than 1,300 views on the U.S. Navy’s and USS Abraham Lincoln’s YouTube pages, and was re-shared and carried by national, international print and video outlets, and played at the Library Foundation on the 150th anniversary. 2. A list of elements produced (spots, news stories, special programs, videos, audio pieces, etc.) and distribution history summary.
