DR ADAM LOUIS SHRIER (LOU) Dr Adam Louis Shrier (Lou) has been an international business developer and a management consultant to the energy and chemical industries since 1988. He has started-up and acquired firms in the energy, environment and chemical fields, and has arranged for international investments and technology transfers. As a strategic adviser, he has helped private and state-owned companies to formulate and implement long-term investment strategies, and has consulted to government agencies around the world on planning, policy development and economic reform programs. He is also an adjunct professor at Columbia University (International and Public Affairs) and at American University (International Business). His experience includes planning and financing upstream oil and gas projects in the Black Sea and Caspian areas; advising on the restructuring and privatisation of state owned energy companies in Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic; and designing a regional energy investment program in the Russian Far East. In China, he recently helped to prepare a state-owned petroleum company for an initial public stock offering, and contributed to the development of a new national energy policy. Previously, Lou spent 25 years with Exxon (now ExxonMobil) Corporation, in various commercial, technical and corporate assignments.
