To Whom it may concern: I first became acquainted with Christopher Warren while he was a student in my Construction Drawings Course (Arch 50). He is a curious and thoughtful student who has a great sense of design awareness and rigor. He was a strong student in terms of his work ethic and in his detail-oriented technical qualities. He has a tremendous amount of rigor and refinement in his work, which are his major strengths. He is thoughtful, thorough and intelligent. To my delight, he has continued to keep in contact with me. He is a terrific student and a great contribution to any work environment. He is also a pleasure to have in our class and department! Please contact me if you have any further questions.  Christopher Warren, UCB Endorsement Letter Submitted 5.2.14 Online In my twenty-four years of tenure as a professor of architecture, I have never felt so compelled to support a student in their desire for UCB/CED admission as I am with Mr. Christopher Warren. I was his design studio instructor for both ARCH 101 and 103; and served as his primary academic mentor. Unlike other worthy and enthusiastic candidates, Mr. Warren distinguishes himself with his sustained intensity driven by both his solid level of critical questioning and his well-considered sense of stewardship as a future architect. Through the last two years of our interactions, he has clearly demonstrated through his work, writing, and conversations that he is an effectively focused and a well prepared scholar of design who plummets the depths of form- and spacemaking, competing theories, concepts and principles to find ways to better both the human condition and our natural and built environments. He aligns his values with that of Berkeley more 2

than any other institution. Having substantial experience at my alma mater and with this passionate and exceptionally dedicated student, I know this alignment is right and a precious one that must be realized at this significant juncture in his life. Moreover, I have never seen any other student with such a strong will to pursue this quest for mastery, purpose, and autonomy. I sit at the edge of my seat waiting to hear that all of us have a common set of wisdom and sensitivities; and have thus come to the same conclusion: Mr. Christopher Warren is UCB/CED worthy and thus has been admitted to Berkeley!
