Check out Stebbins Septic Service Sweethearts. These beauties don't need a guy to get them off the dock, just the 625 horses of power behind the Pernat Haase triple rig boat. So bring your lawn chair and enjoy the show! You never know what Red's planning to put on the water each week. The Beaverland Must-Skis put on free water ski shows every Sunday evening at Tahoe Park at 6:00 PM during the summer. A Wildlife Haven The Visitor Center of the Marsh Haven Nature Center in Waupun, contains beautiful "museum class" displays and exhibits depicting wildlife and their habitat in and around the Horicon Marsh, the lives of Native Americans and early settlers to the area, and natural history to help you understand the "how" and the "importance" of the Horicon Marsh eco-system. Inside the nature center is a room filled with bird activities. There are specimens hanging from the ceiling and walls, pictures of different species and buttons that give the bird call when pushed. Another display has infrared binoculars that feature the sound of the bird being viewed.

The marsh includes wetlands, upland grassy fields and deciduous woodlands, providing wildlife with a variety of food and shelter areas. A diverse collection of birds inhabit the marsh, including more than 265 species during the different seasons. The nature center is on 46 acres at the northwest tip of the Horicon Marsh. There is a quarter-mile hiking trail, called Walters Woodland Trail through the upland deciduous forest bordering the marsh. Within the woods is the 30-foot Lee Gould Memorial Observation Tower overlooking the marsh and woods.

Truck show
keeps on rolling
For 21 years, hundreds of truckers and thousands of spectators have descended on Waupun for the annual Truck –N- Show, and come Friday, August 12, it will be no different. Even in hard economic times, President Randy Bille said he expects as good of a turnout as in previous years. A good turnout is more than 300 outstanding rigs and trucks of all sizes. The event is a salute to the trucking industry, a chance for truckers to strut their stuff. The two day event is not only a showcase for American truckers, but a fundraiser for various charities like the Make-A-Wish Foundation of WI and the Special Olympics. The show features two parades. The Friday night parade, the Lights of the Night Convoy, starts after sundown and winds several miles down Gateway Drive, right on Kelley Ave, Left on Pluim Drive, right on Main Street, where all the city street lights, and the truckers headlights, are turned off, to better show-off the bright lights of the trucks. The colorful event lasts about two hours with hundreds of residents lining the streets cheering the passing convoy. The parade continues right on Brandon St. out on Savage Rd to Hwy M and back in to the grounds off of N. Madison Street.
Among many prizes it won last year, this truck driven by Tom Logan of San Antonio, Texas, won the Mayor’s Choice prize. It’s called the Tribute Truck and was designed by Sean McEndree an Army specialist who was wounded in Iraq.
On Saturday is the Ride of Pride parade down Main Street which has been called the nation’s largest truck parade follows the same route as Friday night’s Parade.

Columbus
has the perfect recipe for
July 4th Fun When it comes to celebrating the Fourth of July, the city of Columbus has the right ingredients for fun – stir in plenty of activities and mix it with something for everyone. The tried-and-true recipe reflects this year’s five-day celebration that gets under way on Thursday, June 30. For the kids, Mr. Ed’s Magical Midways will offer ride after ride all five days. Music lovers will see a wide-range of performers covering several musical genres, and all for the right price – free. On Friday, July 1, the band “Whiplash” will take the stage from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.. On Saturday, July 2, Billy’s Karaoke & Mobile DJ will warm up the crowd from 2 to 6 p.m. for that evening’s performers “Cross County Junction” from Waukesha. On Sunday, July 3, Jessie Walker returns for an afternoon performance and on Sunday night, the three-piece band “Madpolecats” from Madison takes the stage. On Monday, July 4, the “King and Diamonds” performs immediately following the parade, and “Save the Day” performs a wide range of rock and roll from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual Firecracker Five run/walk on July 4th. Registration information is available at www.Athenstoatlantis.com. And let’s not forget the annual icing on the cake for the celebration. What’s July 4th without a parade? Columbus’ parade, billed as one of the state’s largest, steps off at noon on Monday, July 4th and its route takes it through the center of town. The community will once again cap its celebration with the oohs and aahs of the annual fireworks display at dusk. Fireman’s Park plays host to all of the events.

June Dairy Days
great summer and makes time to remember the deep roots that agriculture has in the community and that agribusinesses still play an important role today.
The fun continues on Saturday. Kids can enter Ballweg's Tractor peddle-pull by weighing in at 10:00 am. Then get ready to rumble, peddle and roll. For the kid in all of us the Prairie Pullers Antique Tractor pull will start at noon and the Bedlam Bed Races will follow.
To start the celebration the GLC Pork Producers will start their annual pig roast and the Prarie Lanes Polka Palace is bringing in Russ and Ron to start off the weekend on the right beat.
The Markesan Chamber of Commerce June Dairy Day’s parade is on Saturday, June 11th at 7:00 p.m. This is the area’s finest parade and continues a strong tradition starting over forty years ago.
The Markesan Kiwanis and Police Department will hold a bike rally where kids can have their bikes looked over and go through a bike safety course. The Kiwanis are also giving away free prizes in a drawing that includes a new bike.
After the parade stay for the Chamber Cheese Chase and musical event of the season as Road Trip rocks the Fireman’s Street dance.
June Dairy Days begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday June 10. Markesan kicks off another "Save the Day" Fri., June 10 • 8pm - Midnight
"Road Trip" Sat., June 11 • 8:30 - 12:30pm
For those that want to rock, show off your moves to the high energy sounds of Save the Day or sit back and watch the fireworks show.
Come join the fun and plan to spend the weekend in Markesan, the little City with big ideas. There will be plenty of food, music and activities for the whole family. You won't want to miss this event!!! Visit www.MarkesanWI.com for more information.
