Drawing inspiration from the coexistence of beacon and water channel, a series of square pyramids are delicately crafted to introduce various geometrical skylight in the tips.

In the daytime, the skylights capture the natural sunlight, adding an eye-catching accent to interior spaces; at night, it attracts attention by portraying itself as a series of light house which appear to be floating on the water. Echoed by the reflections of surrounding waters, this result in a dynamic yet serene atmosphere.

This project has an excellent site location just beside the river, offered a place where families and professionals are far from the city looking for clear water and fresh air. In conjunction with the project mission to create a human habitat that harmonizes with nature, the design introduced geometrical lighting as a sustainable strategy, providing sensual pleasures from the interior.

The facade design is inspired by the visual qualities of a sheet of paper under different lighting relationships. A palette of opaque and semi-porous materials lends depth to the building envelop. Walls adopt gentle curves to give an impression of paper folding back to reveal the spaces within the building.

The beauty of this scheme is inspired by the concept of rock surface in the residential tower designs. Its elegance is well potrayed by having the existing building wrapped with white aluminium peforated screens which metaphorize a rocky mountain covered with snows. A random yet rhythmic vertical protusions in rosy golden colour then further polish the scheme.

Huanggang is crowned the city with rich history and cultural background, this scheme highlights the scholarly atmosphere of the city. Layers of graceful curves metaphor the silhouette of books blown by the breeze, the towers appear to be curving upward with brisk charm, thrusting into the sky. Ingenious touches of curved elements on the façade resembles flipped pages while the richness in layers and brilliant play of roof curves create rhythm to the towers. This scheme presents the binding method of traditional Chinese books with the horizontal and vertical curved lines resembling the dividing line of the book spine.
