COURSE SUMMARY

A. Course Aims International Health, Safety & Environment Certificate (IHSEC) course is designed to ensure compliance to internal management system requirements and to regulatory requirements by: 

Establishing safe working practices and eliminating common work site problems such as human error, shift handovers, fatigue and poor job safety analysis;



Maintaining a safe system of work throughout changing conditions and environments using predefined rule sets to avoid conflicts and manage simultaneous operations; and



Demonstrating that work is being controlled to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) to meet internal management system requirements as a demonstration of compliance to the regulator

B. Course Outcome The participants shall acquire knowledge and skill related to safety awareness of the workplace to prevent and reduce related workplace accident congruent with industry standards of competence.

C. Course Objectives At the end of this course, participants should be able to demonstrate understanding of the content through application of knowledge to familiar and unfamiliar situations, In particular they should be able to:    

Describe the foundation of occupational health and safety standards and aims of the course; Describe the Introduction of OSH managements system; Outline the risk assessment procedure and requirement; Describe the roles, responsibilities and requirement of accident investigation and reporting;

 

Describe the workplace hazards and control system; Describe the general requirement and responsibility of environmental awareness.

D. Target Group All HSE officers and would like to be a professional HSE Officer in future or others.

Course Methodology This course shall be delivered in English and with combination of lecture/practical and team activity in the course format. While learning assessment shall be through to written test.

Course Prerequisite Candidates shall possess basic knowledge and understanding of the workplace and basic safe working procedure, responsibility and safety requirements.
