COURSE SUMMARY

A. Course Aim This course will look at the advance rigging practice it will give the details of the determination of the load weight, Rig load, Inspection procedure of rigging devices, determination of crane lifting parameter, determination of crane capacity, moving and placing of load by hand operated hoist, proper use of (Jacks, winches, skids, roller and dollies), Procedure of lifting plan, adjust crane configuration, use of personnel platform and High-level and Long-reach crane lifting procedure. This course was developed using the Regulation of PUWER-1998(Provision & use of work equipments), LOLER-1998 (Lifting operation & Lifting equipment), HSE-1992(Approve code of practice of load lifting), ASME B30.5.2004(Mobile Crane & Locomotive Crane) & B30.9 (Wire rope & Sling) to protecting the people from Accident . In addition to the topics outlined below, this course also covers the proper use of, and various types of rigging Devices and equipment. B. Course Outcome The participants shall acquire knowledge and skill related to safety awareness of the Rigging Operation at workplace to prevent and reduce related workplace accident congruent with industry standards of competence. C. Course Objectives At the end of this course, participants should be able to demonstrate understanding of the content through application of knowledge to familiar and unfamiliar situations, In particular they should be able to:         

Describe the determination the weight of the load and rig load. Describe the inspection and maintenance procedure of rigging equipment; Outline the determination of the crane lift parameter and crane capacity; Describe the basic procedure of moving and placing the load with hand operated hoists; Describe the proper use of Jacks, winches, skids, rollers and dollies, Describe the lifting plan; Describe the procedure of adjustment of the crane configuration; Outline the proper way to use the personnel platform operation; Describe the high-level and long-reach crane lift.


D. Target Group All employees, supervisors, managers, safety officers and engineers who have done rigger L-III training and who have the basic responsibilities of the work place.

Course Methodology This course shall be delivered in English and with combination of lecture/practical and team activity in the course format. While learning assessment shall be through to written test.

Course Pre-Requisite Candidates shall possess basic knowledge and understanding of the workplace and basic safe working procedures.

A. Training room exam on safe rigging practice, Level-II. It will arrange in the training room after the break of complete the class room training program. The exam duration will be 02 hours. B. Practical- test will be arrange outside of the training room. One mobile crane will be arrange for test. It will take for the riggers- test will be on the base of rigging practice and proper communication with the operator and safe use of lifting devices.
