PROFESSIONAL WORK UNDER CONSTRUCTION The Mingei International Museum Transformation in San Diego’s Balboa Park has been through a long journey of collaboration, research, design iteration, and community driven dedication over the past 5 years. One of my contributions included taking on the iterative process of modeling the new stair tower feature. We decide the historical tower which was not previously in use needed to be re-celebrated with a sculptural interior twisting form. The concept was realized after various physical models, 3D prints, and computer aided models and drawings. My role also allowed me to build and present plan models that were used during our early design

In this integrated design studio we worked with Hanbury Architects and Pharrell Williams to design a master plan for a new housing complex that will join the larger scheme to connect social, institutional, and innovative new projects to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and Pier. My master plan gives a walking path

back to the pedestrians that cuts through the whole site, by raising it above the cars. It also connects the 2 main streets bordering the site. I zoomed in to a mixed use apartment complex that uses a pre-fabrication modular
construction
technique.
Each apartment unit has a central core, wet wall that is expressed as rectangular columns that are pulled up through the entire tower. Variation

in the facade comes from the 180 degree turn each module does as it is stacked up on to the next.

STUDY ABROAD STUDIO FA L L 2 0 1 8 While abroad my class studied cemetery conditions in different European cities. We were tasked with designing a new enclosure and

for

cemetery. My proposal creates a boundary between the deceased and living community by creating a seemingly raised condition for the graves, which are wrapped in red corten steel. This allows for the visitors to make a long procession around the sit as they slowly become eye level with the graves and experience the buried from a new perspective. The chapel is hidden at the opposite end of the entrance

of
Charlottesville
extends the downtown mall strip so pedestrians are encouraged to experience the new space. Seating and landscaping is available for passerby’s to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and wait for public transportation. With the apartments located below privacy is created with the curving path above, which came to its form based on lighting and access needs of the apartment inhabitants. The garden and nursery resulted from the hill on the site and the shade the path provides and can be experienced from many different areas on the site.

C O M P E T I T I O N A I A S N AT I O N A L FINALIST SUMMER 2017
I was selected as one of the top 60 in the nation for the AIAS - American Institute of Architecture Students IMAGINE Competition. In Orlando we met Imagineers, learned about projects they contributed to at Disney, and discussed
what the
future of architecture might look like. The collage was a group effort made to represent the transition from Earth to Mars after the Earth became overpopulated in 2077. In this scenario, “AIAS in 70 years, on Mars”, we had to assume we were in an architectural dystopia. We concluded that the role of architects would be the mediators between the many disciplines that need to work together to adapt and develop a

ARKxSITE COMPETITION As the living body travels down the deceased soul travels up towards the heavens. In the cliffs of Serra da Arrabida visitors transition from the living world to the home of their recently deceased loved ones by first walking around and above the mausoleum until they are forced down into the tranquil space where they can mourn privately or use the shared hallway to honor the dead. The water feature that can be percieved through out the whole journey connects the mausoleum to the ocean that serves as a sacred beacon, a symbol of life beyond our physical boundaries.
