Funeral Collections

Some people choose to hold a collection at a funeral or memorial service often in lieu of flowers. Funeral donations are a meaningful way to remember someone special and support the work of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

Fundraise in memory

Take part in one of our fundraising events, a challenge event, or organise your own fundraising activity as a wonderful tribute to remember someone special.

Whether it's a birthday fundraiser, running or cycling challenge, skydive, quiz night or afternoon tea, fundraising in memory can be a great way to spend time with family and friends and share your treasured memories.

if you need help with fundraising ideas or not sure how you want to celebrate your loved ones life, we're here to help.

Bereavement

Losing someone important to us can be emotionally devastating - whether that be a partner, family member, friend or pet. It is natural to go through a range of physical and emotional processes as we gradually come to terms with the loss.

If the person who has died was a patient at the hospice we may be able to offer you additional support during your bereavement.

We offer a variety of different kinds of support.

Sue remembers, “It’s often said that people wait until they know everybody has gone and it was almost like Roger waited as he knew the children had gone home and he just let himself go. It was comforting as he had control right up until the last minute which was what he wanted.

Set up a regular gift

As a lasting legacy in the name of your loved one, you could set up a regular gift on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Making a regular gift through direct debit is an easy way to continually support our work and ensure everyone gets the care they need at the end of life.

Leave a gift in your Will

Donate

You can make a donation online in memory of your loved one. Any amount you can give will help our nurses continue to provide the hands-on care and vital emotional support people need at the end of their lives. You could even choose a particular date like a birthday or anniversary, as a special dedication to the person you want to remember.

Once you've looked after your family and friends, do something amazing and leave a gift in your Will to Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

Many people choose to leave a gift in their Will because it enables them to make a substantial contribution to a local charity close to their hearts, after they have taken care of their family, without having to donate a penny now. These gifts in Wills are crucial to the support we provide to local people – in fact, these thoughtful gifts pay for the care of one out of every five patients we look after. Our services simply wouldn’t exist without the generosity of local people remembering our hospice in their Wills.

Place a leaf on our Memory tree

Dedicate a leaf in memory of a loved one. it's a heartfelt way to remember and celebrate the life of those no longer with us.

The personalised leaf can be engraved with your loved ones name or a small message and displayed on our Memory Tree.

I want to do whatever I can to make sure Roger isn't forgotten and do all I can to help the hospice”

It takes a community to make a hospice

Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care to adults with a life limiting illness in West Northamptonshire.

Whether you’re living with an incurable illness, caring for someone who is, or grieving over the death of a loved one, we’re here to help.

Our charity is committed to increasing the amount we raise each year so that more people can be helped by the service and that the service can be improved.

Why do we need you to support our charity?

We rely on the generous support of our community. Our hospice is part funded by the NHS, with the charity contributing towards the overall funds needed to provide free end-of-life care to our patients and their families.

We need your support to continue to provide and develop our care for patients at 'Cynthia Spencer Hospice' and in their own homes.
