Donnell Cooper has spent over twenty years as a community leader and dedicated to providing educational and economic opportunities to families and students. He has been committed to improving the lives of Houstonians and now he wants to take that commitment to a higher platform. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His formative years was spent in Houston Texas and graduated from Jack Yates High School. Cooper returned to Baton Rouge and received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Southern University. In 1998 he returned to Houston Texas to complete his Master of Science in Public Administration with a concentration in Human Resources at the historic Texas Southern University, and later his Doctor of Education from in Professional Leadership Concentration from the University of Houston.
He's currently the President of the Greater Houston Frontiers Club. During his time as President over $1.5 million dollars in scholarships as been awarded to Houston high school seniors, and the club has hosted the annual MLK Jr. Breakfast, the largest public service breakfast in Texas.
