Wellness Center, has been in the field of Nursing for over 20 years, beginning her career as a Neonatal Intensive Care, Unit Nurse, where she served as Charge Nurse for more than ten years. Hailing from Shreveport, LA, and a graduate of Northwestern State University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, Ms. Johnson has risen in the ranks of her colleagues and has been named as the first Family Nurse Practitioner to serve as Chief Medical Officer at a Texas-Based Federally Qualified Health Center. She directed the charge of the health center to achieve national accreditation through The Joint Commissions and has secured certification for the health center as a Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH). She has developed several programs and services addressing the health care needs of vulnerable populations, particularly in the African American and Hispanic communities in the greater Houston, TX area.

Her dedication to high quality care and commitment to serving the underserved, lends credibility to her accomplishments. Ms. Johnson has a compassionate demeaner that encourages her patients to ask tough questions about their health and life. She has dedicated her career to providing care to persons of the LGBT community, homeless youth and adults, pediatric patients, veterans, geriatric patients, refugees and persons living with HIV.

Believing whole-heatedly in the care and wellness of the whole person, Ms. Johnson also practices as a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. She received her training through the Trinity School of Natural Health. The blending of western and eastern medical practices, enables her to provide individuals options in their care. Empowering patients/clients with the tools needed to actively participate in their health and wellness is an essential step toward healthier lives and healthier communities.

Ms. Johnson is a mother of three and has one fur-baby. She and her family moved to the Houston area seven years ago. She enjoys reading, travel and time with her family and friends. She is a career student and is passionate about learning all she can to be of the greatest service to her patients and the community. Ms. Johnson believes her work in health care provides purpose and allows her to live out that purpose every day. Not many people get to live out or recognize their true purpose and Ms. Johnson has been blessed to do just that.
