Carmen McZeal’s motto in life has its own definition –“Discovering who we really are, knowing why we behave in particular ways and fighting pathways to safely navigate our phenomenon called life.”
The licensed Psychotherapist and founder of Carter Psych Solutions, LLC has been using these words of inspiration as her own personal creed. She’s also the Chief Administrative Officer of Remarkable Kids Pediatric Home Care, LLC of Spring, TX, both of which assist in therapeutic interventions of pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Due to a series of events in her life, McZeal believes that our past experiences create an extraordinarily unique mental and psychological "shape" that requires individualized paths to self-betterment. Her journey wasn’t a “typical” one. Overcoming the loss of her mother, Jennifer Carter, as a 10-year-old, put into motion her intrinsic desire to achieve her highest level of fortitude and desire to serve others in the world around her. The business owner’s professional journey started as a teacher serving students in low-socioeconomic communities in both Louisiana and Texas schools where she was nominated for “Teacher of The Year" within the St. Mary Parish, McKinney and Garland ISD school systems. She also received numerous accolades for her volunteerism with The Boys and Girls Club of America in Louisiana. Public service is an ongoing commitment to McZeal as she is current member of the North Harris Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a member of the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce, Executive Secretary for the Montgomery County Democratic Party, Montgomery County Elections Precinct Judge, Kids' Meals Volunteer and a Safe Haven Partner.
The business owner is a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (C.A.R.T.); Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Grief Professional and a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP) has served as guest speaker, consultant, lecturer, and panelists for local Houston Head Start agencies, school districts, NAACP, Partial
Hospitalization Programs, and Texas Department of Family and Professional Services.
She attended the University of New Orleans and Dillard University receiving a B.A. degree in English and a M.A. degree in Counseling and Psychology from Prairie View A&M University.
Her advanced skills in counseling and mental health have paved the way to further aid those within the Greater Houston Area. She has also worked as a trained mediator for the Dispute Resolution Center of Houston for the past 15 years. This assignment allows her to utilize her skills of conflict resolution as she has brought opposing parties together to resolve domestic and/or other civil matters and mitigate the stress of our overrun court system.
In addition to being a sought-after psychotherapist and community volunteer, McZeal creates stage and set designs for local churches, television recording studios and office buildings. Though inconspicuous, her work has been seen on several YouTube channels including TRC Live & Tazi & Company. She has most recently been deeply involved in the development of a new line of children’s clothing which will be released next year.
McZeal is a devoted wife and mother. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Spring, TX.
