idea
In Poland, the problem of housing for older people is still treated marginally. The purpose of a project is not only to meet the basic needs of safety and comfort but also to contribute positively to the mental health of its the permanent residents..
The key to the project was the creation of a space to stimulate the creation of new neighbourhood ties, for example by coincidental meetings in shared spaces, while respecting the individual’s identity and privacy..
It was important to use a soft edge as a „smooth transition”. such as vertical garden, common kitchen, dining room and balconies.. In addition, there are spaces open to public like sensory garden on the top level, a restaurant and a mini-gallery in the ground floor.
Two different typologies - medival (vertical) form and modernist (horizontal) blocks
