Volume 4 Issue 3 June Edition
June 2016 Summer is here! To kick off these summer vibes, what else is better to talk about then our lovely penguinos continuing to dive into service? Recently I have attended our June DCM + Service event. It was a pleasure seeing fresh faces all around coming together to give up their time for our beloved community. Together, we all put together chic reusable bags and bracelets for the children in the hospital. It was quite tedious having to put everything together, but enjoyable nonetheless! From what I have seen so far, each club has been participating in service events around their community from volunteering at a marathon or at their local elementary schools. Keep up the great work penguinos! On behalf of the Penguin Leadership Team, we are all excited to stir up some great events coming to you all in the next month to come. Our annual Officer Training Conference is coming in a flash so make sure to mark that down on your calendars and to come prepared. I can’t wait to see you all there!

Service Partner up with a neighboring club and put together a beach cleanup day. Gather friends outside of key club as well so they can come in and join in on service and at the end of the day you can reward yourself with nice dip in the beach water!
Ideas Get in touch with your local elementary schools and check up on any activities that they may need help in from art walks, tutoring, library clean up and much more.

Beach Clean Up In the upcoming summer days, the sun will be blazing and the heat will be rising. It’s important to not forget about the less fortunate who don’t receive the same aid and shelter as you in the upcoming conditions. Volunteer at a local soup kitchen near your home club!

Do you love animals? Well this is the perfect project for you! Volunteer at a local animal shelter to provide support and care for the animals that are yet to have a home. Key To
College
Key to College was a great experience, from the fun Harry Potter theme, to the upbeat Key Clubbers, to the insightful Circle K members. The event itself had so much to offer. Key to College is a perfect learning experience for Key Clubbers of all grades. Even in the fun and casual environment, helpful information was still being provided. Tips on the less spoken side effects of college were given, such as how to manage a budget and keep the world clean while doing it. In addition to the advice being given by the Circle K members, Key to College is also an opportunity to get to know new people. Every person at events like this is fun to be around. The uplifting atmosphere that surrounds you at any Key Club event is almost overwhelming, of course in a good way. Being around other Key Clubbers brightens any day, and is always a positive experience. I’ll definitely be back next year to see what the special Senior workshop was all about.

The Key to College program gave me the opportunity to learn about college life firsthand from college students. This consists of learning how to select and apply for ideal colleges, learn all about living on campus, selecting courses, applying for financial aid, joining student organizations, choosing a major, and adapting to campus social life and schoolwork. I especially enjoyed the new friendships I formed during the ice breaker activities and cheer-off between the houses! GRIFFENDOR IS NUMBER 1!

This volunteer event was very creative. I had a lot of fun putting together the bracelets and grocery bags. Overall I am glad to help with the donations to the children's hospital. I can’t wait to come back and provide more service at the next volunteer event that is yet to come!
I had a lot of fun making friendship bracelets with Key Club. At first, it was difficult but quickly got the hang of it while making new friends. I'm glad I participated in this event and helped make bracelets for children in hospitals.
LSHS ERHS I had a lot of fun today making tshirts for those in need. It's always a great feeling to help those less fortunate then me. I hope that they go towards as great a cause as I had an experience. Can't wait for the many other adventures to come in key club.
It was a really fun time making grocery bags out of t-shirts and learning to French braid strings to make a friendship bracelet. I met some new friends and caught up with some old ones. The icebreakers taught me that you can't even trust your own friends...just kidding. I had a blast!

1. Prior to the creation of Division 6 North, the Division along with Division 6 South were a part of Division 6. 2. In the fall of 2013, Division 6 North swiped up the spirit stick for the very first time. Division 6 North became one of the youngest divisions to have won the spirit stick at Fall Rally South (we were only 2 years old)! From then on, D6N’s spirit stick reign has yet to be broken with a win of 3 spirit stick in row. Shoutout to our spirit frenzy members for keeping the energy alive and passing it on for future penguinos to come!
3. In order from beginning to present, the Division 6 North Lt. Governors are Lily Lews (2012-2013), Nini Bu (2013-2014), Ashley Chen (2014-2015), Aubrey Nguyen (2015-2016), and Ryan Lin (20162017). Cheers to our hard working and dedicated leaders over the years! 4. Our very own Region Advisor for Region 4 is the lovely Mrs. Qualm! Thanks to Mrs. Qualm, we are able to organize events amongst our region from Ice Skating to Region Training Conference!

about any school works. But it also means that the year is ending. New school year after the summer will be different from this year. Key Club of Santiago High School had a great year with about 80 members this year. As a club, we built strong relationship through volunteer events, activities, and meetings. Therefore, it is little sad to think how next year’s Key Club will be different from this year. The biggest change will be that the seniors who have been in Key Club all four years are leaving. Especially, our president and vice president, who led the club and other officers as experienced and active member of Key Club, are not going be here with us leading a club. It is also hard for seniors who now have to leave the club. Our president and vice president wanted to thank the advisor who have been instructed them all four years. We expressed our thankfulness through gifts that can represent the Key Club and little thank you card. Even though we worry about next year is going to be new and different, we are also excited about it. We will have new and
