What’s Poppin’ Ninja Turtles!

It can’t believe it has already been a month of school! I hope everyone has been well, especially with club rush. Now that the school year has started, I know we’re all getting busier, but I truly appreciate everyone who stays engaged, attends DCMS, and continues to SERVE! As you know, it’s officially SERVE-tember, and there’s so much in store for you this month!

Splash into September

I’m so excited for all of the new members to get involved this school year! DCMs are a great way to connect with service minded ninja turtles from your local communities. That being said, I am looking forward to connecting and painting with all of you at our Sunsets in September. This month is sure to be a blast!

CAUSE Soirée

D10N x D10S x D13W

The CAUSE Summer Soirée on Friday, August 9, 2024, was a fun and fulfilling experience. As a volunteering event, Division 10 North collaborated with Division 10 South and for the first time, Division 13 West, from Region 8. Held at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, volunteers helped register guests for the CLA Graduation, making sure everything went smoothly. They got to be part of the celebration as future AAPI leaders were recognized, which made the event feel even more special.

During the Summer Soirée, volunteers took on different roles, from helping at VIP tables to keeping the food

and drinks stocked. Members got to meet and interact with important

community leaders and elected officials, making the night even more exciting. Everyone worked together, making sure the event stayed organized and ran without a hitch. Even though the tasks kept volunteers busy, the friendly atmosphere made it a fun night. Members helped clean up, checked in on guests, and did whatever was needed to keep things running smoothly. After their shifts, volunteers were treated to dinner and a chance to relax, feeling proud of the part they played in making the event a success. It was a great night of teamwork, new experiences, and giving back to the community.

Region Night Market R13

On September 14th, Region 13 pulled off one of its biggest events of the year —Region Night Market—at the West Covina Big Dreams Sportsplex, attracting over 800 eager attendees. The evening was a fantastic opportunity for Key Club members to come together to socialize, bond, and fundraise for PTP, all while enjoying a night of food, fun, and spirit-building. The event ran from 5 to 8 PM, but the Lieutenant Governors and their DTLs arrived as early as 2 PM to set up and ensure everything was in place for a night to remember.

As the sun set, the region came together for a group photo, capturing the energy and unity of the event.

Afterward, members broke off into their respective divisions for “Div Time,” a special period where each division practiced and perfected their cheers.

The success of Region Night Market didn’t just lie in the funds raised for PTP, but also in the sense of community it fostered. Attendees left the event with new friendships, cherished memories, and a renewed sense of Key Club spirit. The night was filled with laughter, smiles, and excitement. From the fantastic food to the vibrant atmosphere, the event was a huge hit, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next big region event!
