DIVISION 10 SOUTH ICE SKATING FUNDRAISER FOR PTP August 24, 2013 was an overwhelmingly humid day in Pasadena. Division 10 South cooled off at the Pasadena Ice Skating Center and enjoyed the afternoon by ice skating! Many experienced ice skaters guided their fellow key clubbers by hooking arms together and not letting them fall, although falling was inevitable. Rookies had problems maintaining their balance and looking classy at the same time. This ice skating event brought the whole division closer as we caught up with familiar faces and introduced ourselves to new key clubbers. We had some good laughs and it was an incredible experience. Jonathan Kaneshiro Don Bosco Tech Historian 10/10 would reccommend. Genie Hong Rosmead Historian I would like to start off by saying that I have never been ice skating before; I had no idea how hard it would be! I was scared to fall and break my face or any other body part. Other than the fact it was super-scary it was a great experience. It was superfabulously fun! I had boat loads of fun with all my friends. Ice skating was fun! This makes me want to play hockey! Best of all the money was for a good cause. Sayra Escobar Montebello Vice President On Saturday, August 24 from 1-3pm, members from all of Region 13 including Gabrielino had a great time

at the Ice Skating fundraiser for FTP. Everyone who went had a great time getting to know each other better and meeting new people while supporting PTP! Although it might not seem much having people skate around in circles in a cold room, it was amazing watching fellow Key Clubbers helping each other learn how to skate, supporting each other and helping them up if they did fall. Isaac Nguyen, secretary of Gabrielino Key Club states that: “The Ice Skating Fundraiser was a really great way for people to get together and bond. I felt like it really brought out the fun in people when they were trying to skate. Falling was all part of the plan!” The event was not about the talent, it was about the experience. It was a huge event but nonetheless, a fun one. Jeffrey Lei Gabrielino Tech Editor The Division 10 South ice skating fundraiser was so fun! It was on Saturday, August 24th, from 1-3pm. I had never been ice skating before so it was a good place to go to the Pasadena ice skating center because they had pretty good ice. I had a little trouble finding the place because it is a little hidden. It was also very hard to find parking! I thought tickets were reasonably priced when I pre-ordered them from Kimberly* for $13. Naturally, as a first time skater I fell a lot, but luckily my bottom didn’t hurt too much! I was surprised with how much fun I had. The weather outside was pretty hot, but that just meant that inside it felt fair. I think inside usually feels colder than how

it felt that day. I was very happy we raised a lot of money for the division! The rink was a little small and I thought it seemed a little crowded with everyone in there. Afterward we went out to eat and I was very happy! Amber Ho Mark Keppel Historian The ice skating fundraiser was really fun! I had a blast with everyone! It was also nice to see other key club members there! That day was actually the first time I ever went ice skating, so that made me scared and nervous. At first I didn’t even want to go in, but I’m glad I did. It was hard to ice skate, but i managed to stay on my feet. It was also nice to go somewhere new with your friends and create awesome memories. Overall it was a fun experience, and knowing that the money was for PTP made it even better! It’s nice to know that you can help others all while having a good time. Can’t wait until the next fundraiser! Diana Laureano Montebello Member On August 24th, i attended the ice skating fundraiser for PTP. It was my first time there and i learned how to ice skate. It was great seeing many keyclubbers there supporting the event. Overall it was a fun experience and i would definitely do it again since it was for a good cause. Gary Chen Schurr Member
