On July 19th, from 9:30am=2:00pm, members from both D10S and D10N joined the online Division 10’s annual Officer Training Conference, in which members of D10S and D10N’s DLT hosted workshops showcasing how to become better equipped for officer positions.

July was an eventful month for Gabrielino Blue Turtles! Among the division festivities, Gab Key partnered with Essential C.a.r.e to provide a much needed service to lift up our spirits during uncertain times. Members made care packages consisting of cards, jars of positivity, and origami stars. These trinkets were sent to Essential C.a.r.e and delivered to people most affected by the pandemic. This included the elderly, children, essential workers, and homeless folks. Over the course of two days, members joined a zoom call for one hour to uphold the integrity of the service. Officers joined the call to keep track of hours and to bond with members. Despite all odds, Blue Turtles continue to maintain their spirits to spread positivity and joy. For the month of July, Wilson Key Clubbers participated in the D10S Service Week! For the last week of July, members did six different events to earn service hours such as answering math problems to raise money for UNICEF, an organization that helps save children! By participating in this event, each member was able to make up to 20 hours!

July and August has been very eventful for Alhambra Key Club despite still being in quarantine. In July, members finally welcomed the new members to the club! We hosted a zoom meeting where we began with a few ice breakers to get to know the new members. After introductions, Karen, our president, proceeded with the pledge and informed the new members about what Key Club is all about with a very simple, yet informative slide show. Just last night, Alhambra Key Club had their first virtual social through discord! More than 60 members attended the social so we had to break everyone into small groups. When everyone joined their small groups, the host had the option of playing any online game such as skribble.io, cards against humanity, and etc. Mark Keppel and San Gabriel Key Club also held a joint interclub meeting, in which they watched the movie “Weathering With You and colored ! Members received 2.5 hours of service from this event.
