UPDATES! UPDATES! Andrew Hill : Andrew Hill have been volunteering at holiday parties as “Santa Little Helpers.” We also collected over 600 cans for the Canned Food Drive while raising funds for UNICEF. Christmas in the Park was one of our bigger events with more than 50 volunteers! Hopefully Key Clubbers will continue to raise the holiday spirit and spread care throughout the community.

Evergreen: Evergreen raised over $1200 for UNICEF, with the majority of the members participating in our drive. We sold churros and spam musubi at EV's Winterfest to raise money for our club. We are selling EVHS crewnecks, which are $25 each. We will have a fundraiser in January, so be on the lookout!

Gunderson: Gunderson has done our monthly Jamba Juice this month, with many happy customers. We have also continued with our Member of the Month, which is Thomas Hoang for December. Gunderson, after several months of planning, has pulled through with our December DCM. Through all the planning, work, & time put in, I am so proud of all of the officers & members who helped. Hope all you had fun & thank you for coming! We attended the last Kiwanis Meeting of the year, & it was fun! Currently, we have been working with the San Jose Kiwanis Food Booth at Christmas in the Park; everyone who has worked it so far has had a blast. Spreading the holiday spirit is always fun! Come support the San Jose Kiwanis Club by purchasing food!

Leland: Leland has turned in our Family Giving Tree presents and passed out membership cards to new members who paid in October. We have been planning a coat drive with Almaden Valley Kiwanis. We will also have a joint project (Blankets for Kids) with AVK and help out at the Holiday Party and Toy Drive at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. We will take part in two more Fantasy of Lights events and Williams Elementary’s Crab & Pasta Feed.

Care for more? Oak Grove: Oak Grove is still doing our weekly school watering on Mondays. We had another fundraiser - mistletoe grams - donating all proceeds to a non-profit organization called MEMO of UCI, UCSD, and UCLA. Our December has been going fairly slow, but we hope to pick up the pace by having our first volunteer event of the New Year at the San Jose Rose Garden where we will be pruning the roses, some Salvation Army volunteering, and a movie social for all our fabulous members. Pioneer: Pioneer’s member of the month was Andrew Bui. We had our social with all our greattt members at Christmas in the Park. We assisted the St. Jude’s Walk and helped sort out toys for low-income families at Toys for Tots. We are planning to help out at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds and innVision group project. We also turned in the UNICEF money. This coming month, we will hold a coat drive, which all the proceeds will go towards Bill Wilson.

Santa Teresa: Santa Teresa has been engaging in many events, like the Panda Express Fundraiser and the Cooking Pasta, where we sold baked food. We also have been working at Christmas in the Park to help deliver holiday spirit. Also, when the break started, we had a Holiday Social with all our members. It was a ton of fun! Upcoming, we are going to assist in the Toys N’ Joy in downtown to give out presents to low-income families.

Silver Creek: Our main focus of December was the Christmas party at Santee Elementary School with the Family and Children Services and our school's Interact club. I know it's crossed onto enemy lines, but I really wanted to reduce the amount of tension between our two clubs. That was partly why I wanted to create such an event. Willow Glen: Willow Glen sold popcorn and pretzels at Willow Glen’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. We helped host the breakfast at Willow Glen Community Center. We also brought holiday spirit to San Jose by assisting Santa Clara Fairgrounds. We are still having Our World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser, and it’s been going amazingly well!

Club Reports Gunderson : Gunderson has been growing as a club & developing new leaders. We definitely had great results from the December DCM. It turned out to be a success and all our hard work paid off! We have also been intently taking shifts at Christmas in the Park. It’s great to see how many members volunteer to attend the events. A lot of the freshmen and new members in general, have been active in Key Club, while still having fun both serving the community and making new friendships. I am so proud of all our members; they will help continue to grow the club. They're ready for DCON in April! -

Tia Lee, President

Oak Grove : Oak Grove has been doing working our best to be an active club. Like always, we’ve been watering school plants every Monday. We had another fundraiser - mistletoe grams - donating all proceeds to a non-profit organization called MEMO of UCI, UCSD, and UCLA. After the break started, we we hope to pick up the pace by having our first volunteer events of at the San Jose Rose Garden, where we will be pruning the roses. We plan to volunteer at Salvation Army and host a social. It seems like we will be pretty busy. We got this! -

Mindy Pham, President

Silver Creek : As for the overall club, we are doing better than I was expecting us to. We raised a tremendous amount of money for the Christmas party and found excellent events that the participating members loved and wanted to do again. Unlike last year, we are really promoting DCON to the members. As a matter of fact, a few of the members are already saving up for DCON and have planned out everything from what they plan to bring and what they want to do. The enthusiasm is incredible and motivating to see. -

Lisa Tran, President

Club Reports (Continued) Santa Teresa : This month was quite busy! Santa Teresa hosted a Panda Express Fundraiser earlier this month. We had a Holiday social for all our members, providing hot chocolate and games. To bring it up a notch, we held a Cooking Casa, where we sold donated clothes and baked goods, which the proceeds were donated to American Cancer Society. We’ve also been in and out of Christmas in the Park. Tons of members have been having a great time there! We will also participate in Toys N’ Joy this coming Thursday to help hand out gifts for children. I’m thrilled to see our wonderful achievements and hope to see even bigger improvements. Great job Santa Teresa! :D -

Nicole Fernandez

Andrew Hill : In the past month, Andrew Hill Key Club has been helping those in need during the holiday season. Members have been collecting canned food on their own while also continuing to raise funds for UNICEF. Although it is the holiday, members have not stopped volunteering and continuing to contribute to the community. -

Anh Huynh, President

Willow Glen : For the month of December, we had a few volunteer opportunities. On December 1st, we sold popcorn and pretzels at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at WG Elementary. On December 10th, we helped run the Christmas pancake breakfast with Santa at WG community center. On December 18th, we had some key clubbers help direct guests, assist santa, organize tops, and set up games at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser is going really well and many people are buying! We are going to start talking about DCON soon and get a head start on raising more money for the trip! -

Tiffany Pham, Vice President

Club Reports (Continued) Leland : land has had a slow month in terms of projects but we are planning many more for the upcoming year! Projects from December include the Family Giving Tree, the Holiday Party & Toy Drive at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, and Fantasy of Lights. Upcoming events for the new year in January so far are the Williams Crab & Pasta Feed, Loaves and Fishes, and a coat drive (that is still in the planning stage!) Leland Minions are looking forward to an exciting 2012! -

Serena Wong, Secretary

Evergreen : December has been a busy month for us, as we all had finals to worry about. We have many events upcoming this holiday season, as we get to take part in the Christmas spirit like many other volunteers. We are having multiple fundraisers as well. As you probably heard, the Winterfest was a success, selling churros and spam musabi. We have also been selling our club apparel for $25! Lots and lots of events to come! :D -

Tyler Lam, Spirit Commissioner

Pioneer : This month in December, Pioneer Key Club did service at events like Toys for Tots, Santa Clara fairgrounds. We will be helping out an innVison group project to spread some holiday cheer around to San Jose. It’s halfway through the school year and our club has just turned in most of their dues, UNICEF money to Eliminate project, and will get their shipment of pioneer key club apparel soon. We also just made holiday cards to send to a local children's hospital. I am glad to see most of our members attending events like the recent DCM and to see their key club spirit through members wanting to attend the upcoming CTC. In January, we will begin our second semester with working on a class competition coat drive within our club for clothing and necessities to donate to the Bill Wilson Center and do much more! -
