Hello

s! n i a l l i v Super

Thank you to everyone who attended Fall Rally North! A little update for those who weren't able to attend: D12S made it to the second round, we took no L’s during spirit battles and best of all we raised over $2500 for the Pediatric Trauma Program! Thank you to everyone who helped make that happen! Special shout out to the Spirit and PTP coordinators!! Without you, we would never have gone so far and done so much for our community. S-U-P-E-R SUPERSTAR IS WHAT YOU ARE! We are now halfway through the term, so let’s push through and make sure to keep volunteering and fundraising because we only have 6 months left till DCON 2018! Keep doing what you've been doing Villains because no matter what, I’m proud to be your Lieutenant Governor!

Christine Luong At Bark in the Park, I liked helping with the various different tasks because I was able to enjoy the cute lil doggos at all of them. I also like how the atmosphere was very carefree but organized. It also had a family-orientated type of vibe with all the kids and us, the volunteers!!

ANN SOBRATO

Ogier Pond Cleanup “At the Ogier Pond Cleanup, volunteers were given the task to pick up trash up to help conserve and beautify our environment. I was designated to work in the dried creek bed area of the pond where there was a significant amount of trash. There were items ranging from bottles to plastic bins, and even few sports equipment, such as soccer balls and basketballs. In that area alone, I was able to fill up five, huge trash bags. I very much enjoyed my experience at the pond clean up because I was able to help keep my community trash-free and I am thankful that I was given this opportunity to help out.

"Helping out at this event was a peaceful time for me because it was a place for people to come out and relax and grab some wine. They also had the opportunity explore the many different booths there that we helped set up before the event. I meet a lot of people through this event which strengthened my communication skills." - Albert Nguyen, Project Coordinator

Jessica Cheng “During this event, members of Leland Key Club did not only beautify the park by removing trash from the park, but we also were able to collect data for the coordinators of this event. By being friendly and having confident public speaking skills, we were able to survey around 65 participants at this event; asking questions about their knowledge about the festival. We were also able to experience an opportunity to see various of talents from such a diverse group of people. Attendees of the event were encouraged to bring awareness of the artists’ hard work, dedication, and passion by taking photos of their masterpiece and add them to the Luna Park Art Foundation’s social media hashtags.” Project Coordinator

Parminder Singh "At the Kiwanis Fundraiser, we held a hotdog tent. At the tent, I was a waiter while other volunteers were inside working the tent. As a waiter, I walked around at the event to deliver hot dogs and collect orders from people in the booths. Though not many people ordered hot dogs, we were still able to make a difference in our community by helping out our local Kiwanis at their fundraiser. " Member

SILVER CREEK

Luna Chalk Art Festival “This was my second time volunteering at the Luna Chalk Art Festival! The atmosphere is always so nice and volunteers would lend each other a hand if they saw someone struggling. I mainly would be assisting vendors unpack their items and take it to their designated booths. The event coordinators were also helpful and gave us new jobs if we felt like rotating and answered any questions we had. From this event I have learned that lending someone a hand when is what I love to do, and I'll for sure come back next year if this event is offered again!

“The Coyote Creek Clean Up was an event where UPA’s Key Club and UPA’s Creature Conservation Club collaborated together to help clean up Coyote Creek Park. This clean-up was a chance for us to give back to those who are struggling, especially when they are living in an unsanitary environment. When we first got there, many members were disgusted with shock on how much filth there was in one area. The thought of many creatures and the homeless being in these kind conditions was enough to motivate us to change the way the park looked when we initially got there. Overall, the event was a huge success as everyone got the chance to serve the community!”

FALL RALLY NORTH "FRN 2017 WAS AMAZING! THIS WAS MY FIRST FRN AND

it was truly an unforgettable experience. As a Freshman, I felt super welcomed by my division, 12 South, and even other divisions! My favorite part of it was cheering along with all my fellow Supervillains, whom I call my Ohana. We had a lot spirit and energy to let out, especially during the rally and spirit battles! We came in 2nd place for the rally but, that didn't matter. What matters is how much fun we all had and the money we raised for the Pediatric Trauma Program! I just joined Key Club a few months ago but I am for sure staying."
