Hey Supervillains !

Welcome to the 6th Division 12 South Newsletter! It feels like the term has gone by so fast, but don’t worry, we have a few more months with A LOT in store for you guys.

I hope you Supervillains had a blast at FRN! D12S might not have won the spirit stick this year, but you guys have for sure won my heart <3

As a reminder, dues season is coming up! Contact your club president or treasurer to hear more information on the benefits of paying your dues. District and Division contests are opening up, so make sure to start working on your portfolios NOW so you won’t need to cram later.

With Thanksgiving coming up, I’d like to remember everything I’m thankful for, including my own little D12S villains. From general members to my Division Leadership Team, I’m so incredibly grateful for each of you, and I am so honored to be able to serve you as your LTG.

I hope you all had a Happy Halloween, and that you are all taking care of yourselves. Seniors, good luck on college apps, and I’ll see you all in December

Scheming with Love, Chloe Ha

Oct DCM (Division Council Meeting) Recap

The October DCM was held on October 16th at Yerba Buena High School. The DCM was a huge success with a bustling crowd of villains excitedly anticipating the spirit session and service event. At the service event, members put together little Halloween themed goodie bags. I worked alongside two members from Silver Creek, Andrew and Angela. Although we didn’t have enough supplies for the whole division to create little critter goods, the three of us were fortunately able to create a single six legged lollipop spider. After the service event, the division was split into two groups to learn the last cheer before Fall Rally North.

CDM Mid-Autumn Festival (Afternoon)

Leland - September 10th, 2022 | Chihiro Shitomi, Sophomore

I think for the most part, volunteering at the Children’s Discovery Museum was pretty entertaining. I got to socialize with younger kids and help them out with making their mooncakes. Helping out the staff members at the museum was enjoyable and gave me exposure to cooperating with not just children but also other volunteers at the event. We all had to learn how to make moon cakes before the guests came in and we had to figure out how to make sure one volunteer didn’t handle too many kids. Our job was to teach the visitors how to mold a play doh into a moon cake using cookie stamps. My favorite part of it was helping the kids push out the play doh from the cookie stamp and seeing how nicely everyone’s moon cakes came out to be. It was a fun way to bond with others and I had fun interacting with everyone to make the even a success.

Kids Day at the Tech

Yerba Buena - September 18th, 2022 | Sabrina Penn, Senior

I enjoyed the event, I think its my first time volunteering for key and it went very well. I was in charge of doing photo booth stuff and checking people in for taking photos, and that was easy. I really enjoyed working at the tech museum and how we were able to take breaks to explore, and also talking to the families and seeing the happy kids. I also enjoyed the snacks provided to us, and how all the workers and staff were all super nice and answered questions! Overall the event made a lasting impression on me and I enjoyed it a lot!
