LTG MESSAGE What's Schemin', Supervillains? Can you BEE-lieve it? We only have ONE month left until the 20162017 term ends. What are you doing to end the term with a BANG? This year has been amazing with you all and I wish it could continue, but now it is time to leave our LEgacy and train the incoming leaders for next year. If you are still wondering about what you can do to make sure this term is one to remember, I highly encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try something you've always wanted to do! Plan the PTP fundraiser, attend a new service event, or meet someone from another club! Whatever you aspire to do, just keep in mind that the term is ending faster than we think. So why not grasp all of the opportunities that Key Club has to offer? In February, the Supervillains along with the rest of Region 17 walked the red carpet at Conclave 2017: The Academy Awards and participated in a monumental moment in Division 12 South history. At Conclave, we elected our D12S Lt. Governor for the 2017-2018 term! Please give a round of applause for our D12S Lt. Governor Elect, Kristy Le from Ann Sobrato! When you see her, make sure to say "hi!" She is truly a lovely and friendly person, she would love to meet you! I am positive that Kristy will do an AMAZING job as Lt. Governor as she leaves her LEgacy.

LTG MESSAGE In the near future, look forward to attending March Division Council Meeting, District Convention 2017: Planting the Seeds of Service, and the LTG Banquet! March DCM will be hosted by Willow Glen on Saturday, March 18th, 2017, 5pm-8pm at Willow Glen High School. Come in your pajamas, listen to club reports, participate in the service project, and play Just Dance with D12S! Right after that, we will be attending DCON 2017! Thank you to all of you who have registered already! Remember that late registration is due on March 13th! For DCON, we will be wearing Club Spirit Attire on Friday, Business Professional with any Division Spirit Accessories you have on Saturday, and Convention Casual with Division Spirit Accessories on Sunday. Hope to see you there as we grow into Planters of Service! If you have any questions, take a look at my latest DCON Update email found on the Division Google Reflector or ask me! Last, but not least, I hope to see you at my LTG Banquet in May! I will be recognizing KEY members in our Division and saying my goodbyes. I would LOVE to spend my last moments of Key Club with you. â?¤ Thank you for a SPICE-KEY year! Let's end the term with a bang by turning in our submissions on-time, fundraising for our preferred charities, and volunteering at lots of events! I BELIEVE THAT WE CAN ACHIEVE OUR DIVISION GOALS!! Don't forget to continue serving as ONE villanious ohana! With love, Jacklyn Vo Division 12 South Lt. Governor 2016-2017e, Jacklyn Vo Division 12 South Lt. Governor 2016-2017

DNE MESSAGE Hello friends! I'm My, your Division 12 South Division News Editor. We have almost raised enough hours to reach our service goal. Keep on serving your community and making a difference! Hope you have a great day today! -My Hoang

CLUB REPORTS FEBRUARY EDITION

LELAND Graystone Movie Night EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME VOLUNTEERING AND SOCIALIZING -CHLOE DANGÂ

Ann Sobrato: Coyote Creek Cleanup During the event, I felt it was important to go and help the community. It’s great to see people of all ages helping. I feel it’s very important to help the community back in return. Taylor Lopez

Evergreen Valley: Tet Festival There were dance performances, karaoke, and prizes, so there wasn’t a moment of dullness. In the end, everything worked out well because the volunteers switched off so that everyone could work equally! -Shayla Tran

Willow Glen: Second Harvest Food Bank

In February, my friends and I had an amazing opportunity of community service at Second Harvest Food Bank! It’s always great to do something that involves helping people in need. At this event we were split to sort different foods for people in need. Some of us went to sort oranges or pears. I helped to weigh the different foods being sorted. It was impressive to see how fast some people worked to get the job done before the end of the night. It was also astonishing and heartwarming to see the great amount of food being sent to people in need. I think by only the middle of the night, one of the workers had confirmed that already 4,000 pounds had been packed and ready to ship out! -Lia Dugan

Silver Creek: Rose Garden Pruning I’ve been volunteering for the Rose Garden Pruning event for a while now, and each time I’ve attended has been better than the last. The people in charge were very kind and they helped teach each and every volunteer how to prune roses. I had an amazing time volunteering here and it was nice to see the other volunteers having fun as well. As a senior, I’ll definitely miss events like these. Ben Vo

Pioneer: City Team Kitchen Detail

On that day we volunteered to help prepare and make the food to serve for homeless people who are struggling to get their own food. For example, we washed, cut, and cooked the vegetables. At a specific time after the food was prepared, we handed them the food. It was for helping the people who lived around the community who are struggling to prepare or buy their own food. We didn't need a specific skill, we remembered to smile when we handed them the food and it made us happy because we were able to help them in such ways. I would consider doing this again because it was really fun cooking in the kitchen and interacting with our key club members and officers and I had a great time. - Jennifer Dinh

Yerba Buena: Santa Run This year, Key Clubbers volunteered for the Santa Run in which they helped runners sign up in addition to monitoring the course. This event helped raise money to fund for downtown San Jose's diminishing budget for Christmas in the Park!

Santa Teresa: Taylor Elementary Harvest Festival The Taylor Festival was a fun experience because I got to work with my friends and help run game booths. The work was tiring but well worth the effort. I hope I can volunteer again next time. -Jimmy Lam

Andrew Hill: Old Navy Shopping Chaperon I honestly really enjoyed this event! It was great seeing all the children we were helping and the smiles on their faces when they got to leave with practically a new wardrobe for school. The event was such a great idea, not only for the children who benefitted from it, but also for the volunteers who got to see the difference they made in a child's life. -Vanessa Nguyen

Quote of “At the monthly event, Cecilia’s Closet, people in need come and collect clothes and food that their family needs. This was my first Key Club event and I got to help set up their November decorations and tents. After we finished setting up, we made care packages for people for their Thanksgiving. The event actually started the next day, but volunteers were asked to helped the day before to help set up. It was great to learn I made a difference in my community, especially people in need. I will help again when Cecilia’s Closet comes next year.”
