How Do You Feel?

Past Events ‌ Music in the Glen : Every Thursday at Willow Glen Elementary was filled with music and food hosted by our fabulous Willow Glen Key Club. Key Clubbers from multiple schools helped set up, serve food, and clean up, while enjoying the beautiful afternoon/night. It was definitely a successful 5 week-long event (6/30 – 8/4)! Congrats to Willow Glen Key Club :) OTC: It was a fun-filled day at Manresa beach. It was consisted of educational workshops, several, catchy cheers, and the all-time sandcastle contest. After winning the fourth time in a row, we kicked it up a notch and made it the fifth! Woohoo, great job, Super villains! Relay for Life: On July 9, there was a Relay for Life event hosted in Campbell. Two schools from our division participated on the day of the event: Santa Teresa and Willow Glen. They sold many cute, little toys and key chains to help raise money. What a smart, fun way to get moolah! Wonderful job, ST! :D

Past Events (Continued) (C((Continued)

Gunderson Car Washes (2): In two months, Gunderson Key Club held two car washes, one in July and another in August. There were lots of laughter and witty cheers. At the same time, they raised $600, mainly going towards PTP! What a boss, Gunderson :D Safety Bike Fair: Pioneer Key Club held a Safety Bike Fair at their campus for kids with special needs to race and compete. Volunteers helped organize fun and games and supervised these irresistibly adorable children. What a great way to make their lives happier and thrilling! Leland Car Wash: Also, Leland followed up another car wash on August 13 at Country Club Auto Service. Much like Gunderson’s, it was very successful. They raised lots of money for PTP, while having a great time, cheering and washing cars. Great job guys! :) Yogurtland Fundraiser: Even after school started, Willow Glen created a fundraiser at Yogurtland. It brought customers from all over San Jose. Much of the proceeds were given to their club ($100) Froyoooo <3

More Past Events: Feeding the Poor: Gunderson Key Club set up a day to help provide food for the homeless at Julian Street. They were actually in the kitchens, making the food with lots of love and care. How loving! :) Mural Painting: Murals are essential in a school’s beauty. Andrew Hill out on their artistic skills and contributed in creating a beautiful mural for their school. Great job, Andrew Hill! Bike Repairs for the Homeless: Key Clubbers from Gunderson helped fix the bikes for less fortunate. They had their hands on wheels, pedals, steers, and so much more. Even though it was tough work, they kept cycling forward until the end to repair the bikes. August DCM: On August 27th, our division held a warming welcomeback DCM at Cambrian Bowling Lanes to share our monthly reports. Everyone enjoyed the bowling. It was nice to see everyone again, while catching up on our achievements. Also, of the same day, many of the new divisional committee members were announced. Congrats to you all :D

Club Reports Gunderson : Hello everyone! I'm Pauline Nguyen, sophomore and treasurer of Gunderson's Key Club! First off, I'm very excited for this Key Club year, whether it's within our division or even if it's just within my home club. I BEE-lieve that our division is growing stronger and will continue growing in the following years because of all the amount of strength and potential we have, we can make it happen. Some events I'm looking forward to are our future DCMs, RTC, FRN, and DCON! I honestly have to say our DCMs are simply wonderful because we all get things done quickly and also, that is the day our division gets to bond with one another and I love it! Haha! This year will be my first time attending RTC and I'm really looking forward to see what it's like. I heard it's oodles of fun! As for FRN and DCON, those events are both favorites of mine because you get to see so many different faces there and also, ALL THE SPIRIT that is taken place quickly draws my attention. Plus all the things you learn at workshops at DCON are very helpful! Haha! Also, this year I know Gunderson Key Club is going to be great! And I'm sure everyone's club is great too! Haha! I'm very happy that I'm one of the officers and being apart of the club makes me feel even more joyous! I'm still in the learning process of becoming a strong leader, but I got this! :) I'm looking forward to all the members we will gain and the events and projects we will do! Last year, I participated in a lot of service projects and attended many events, now Key Club is basically my life. I'm proud of myself, our club, and our division! Generally, I'm just very eager to see what's in store for this year! There is no way I can explain my love for KEY CLUB! Haha! Well, that is all! HAVE A LOVELY DAY SUPER VILLAINS! D12S ROCKS THIS HOUSE! :)

Oak Grove : What I am looking forward to this year key club is all the new friends I will make and all the events that will happen. I am looking forward to FRN, RTC and the DCM's because I'm sure that I will have a nice time meeting new friends and hanging out with my friends. This year will be a memory to me!

Silver Creek : I really love Key Club and I can't wait for it to start. A new year has so many new activities and events to go too. I'm looking forward to interacting with my classmates at Silver Creek and with every other school in my division. Learning new leadership, taking on some responsibilities. I really hope Silver Creek does something with working with Elders and Children.(: But that's just me.

Club Reports (Continued) Santa Teresa : HEY THERE! From one of the D12S key clubs, we just want to let you know we are ready and thrilled for this coming up year! Not only for the service and getting to help others, but for the new members and getting to know them all on a one to one basis. It’s just one of those things that makes Key Club a great club. We get to be like a whole new family and we work together to make a difference in our society. I can say, 100%, BRING IT 2011-2012! >:] we are ready to do Key Club proud! We are looking forward to showing our spirit at FRN and DCON maybe even ICON and letting the world know that even at our age, we are helping the community and that the future is bright.

Evergreen : Tyler Lym, Spirit Commissioner for Evergreen Valley High As a senior in Key Club, I am very excited for what this upcoming year has in store for our division, D12 South. Being a second-year attendee to RTC, I am thrilled to go to Camp Jones Gulch to meet Key Clubbers from around the Bay Area and learn what I can do to make my school's club even better. I had a great experience last year, and I hope to have another one this year too. I am excited for Fall Rally North, as I hope I can help my division get the spirit stick this year. We earned third place at the rally two years ago, and I use it as motivation to push our division to greater heights. I can't wait for DCON this year since it is Santa Clara. I want to bring as many members as we can to the convention, so they can be inspired from what goes on during the event. Some local events I look forward to volunteering are helping set up Christmas In the Park at Downtown San Jose, working at the Evergreen Little League Opening Day Jamboree, and working with the SJSU Police Department to deliver toys to underprivileged families. These events have been such fun to work, and I cannot wait to help out these organizations. Hope to meet you all sometime soon! 

Willow Glen : Hello! I'm Tiffany and I am a sophomore at Willow Glen High School. This year, I am really looking forward to staying involved by supporting other schools as well as making Willow Glen Key Club the best it can be. I'm going to motivate many members to make a difference and help the community. I want as many Willow Glen Key clubbers to attend the DCMs and other major events such as FRN, RTC, and DCON. I am super stoked to meet Key clubbers everywhere and build relationships. Willow Glen Key Club will have many great changes this year and I am absolutely thrilled for the new year. I can't wait to see what's in store this year!

Club Reports (Continued) Leland : What am I excited for, for key club thing year? I am excited for hecka many things! Like helping out the community more and learning new things from those experiences. I am definitely looking forward to meeting more of the lovely faces of key clubbers! I also can't wait to learn just learn more about key club in general!

Andrew Hill : Hi Key Clubbers! My name is Anh Huynh and I’m a senior at Andrew P Hill High School and I’m also this year’s president. The school year has recently started and I am so excited for Key Club to begin! Even before the year started, a few members of our club and officers came together to paint a mural that represents everything about Key Club. I cannot say I’m how please I am with our beautiful mural. Our officers have also came together to plan a wonderful year full of volunteering events to show members, new and old, what Key Club is really about. Although I have only been a member for three years, I fell in love with the club instantly. The people you meet at Key Club events are the most genuine people there will ever be! Everyone is so caring and helpful. I really hope people within Key Club can understand that it’s not only about community service; it’s about what comes from the heart. The satisfied feeling of helping others and seeing something so simple that can turn into a gigantic smile. I’m really looking forward to help our members build confidence and leadership skills where they would be able to feel more sociable to the world and excited about helping our community.

Pioneer : This coming year, I'm looking forward to all the major events such as RTC, FRN, DCON. Going to DCMs and hanging out with my current friends while meeting new ones are also a big part of what I plan to do. I'm really excited that DCON is actually in the Bay Area this year and I feel like more people from this area would go because its closer and FRN being at Six Flags instead of Great America as usual is going to be an awesome new change. I'm also enthusiastic that I'm an officer this year and I can contribute to my school's Key Club. I have a feeling that it's going to be a great year!
