Leland Key Club made a difference at this event because we helped to clean up trash in the park. We helped keep our community clean for others to enjoy and to maintain a safe environment for wildlife to live in. By picking up trash we understood the harmful effects of littering, and realized the importance of keeping the environment clean. We were helping the organization Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful at this event. When volunteering at this event, it was amazing seeing how much trash was cleaned within the span of 3 hours with the help of a group of 20-30 volunteers. Although it was a rather messy and unpleasant process, the outcome of the cleanup left many feeling proud as bags upon bags of trash were carried out of the park.

UPA
The Relay For Life was an event in Campbell where students from UPA volunteered along with others to serve breakfast for cancer survivors and their caretakers. They served scrambled eggs, sausages and croissants. The event went on for 3 hours from 11-2 and food was served till 1. The experience was well enjoyed since we got the chance to interact with the survivors as they told their story! -Meghana Bellam
