We’ve made it to the end of the term! The accomplishments obtained this term could not have been done without the members’ activeness and support ! Thank you to the officers and advisors that contributed to these feats through dedication and hard work .

Hello Ninjas, my name is Sierianna Lieutenant Governor for the 2022-2023 than thank you. Thank you for opportunity to serve you all. Thank laughing, smiling, experiencing you for being the division I get all do. While I write this message, happened while I was in Key Club. and to be real, I could write Club, but I don’t know what to a message. All I feel is gratitude never imagined that the time goodbye, would ever come. I have with thi s division, heck thi s division literally no words to describe how helped me develop into the person been able to receive from it. Love, all a family. Someone in the division are or are yet to be. I just hope to be able to find that person or ranting nonsense but all I am glimpse into the love I have for how I see you, in a rose-colored songs would go crazy. Anyways, have for you. No matter who to give you a big hug and to tell Because I will. I will always be person, rooting you on, knowing future, is golden. Sierianna Chea and I proudly serve as your 2022-2023 term and what more can I say for the memories. Thank you for the Thank you for being there. Thank you for , and giving everything a chance. Thank to serve because nobody does it like you message, I sit and think about how much has Club. There is so much I could talk about a novel with how much I feel about Key say when I do have the chance to write gratitude, appreciation, and solemnity because I time for me to write my message, to say have spent what feels like my whole life division watched me grow up! There are how amazing this club is, how much it has person I am today, and how much I have Love, guidance, knowledge, and most of division is your family, whether they already you find comfort in the division as I have or maybe even people. At this point, I am am trying to do is give you even a little for the organization. I want you all to see rose-colored lens. If I was Olivia Rodrigo, the love Anyways, I hope you all know how much love I you are, I would love nothing more than tell you that I will always be there for you. be there for you as a division and as a knowing that whatever is in store for you in the black and yellow and I always will. FOR ONE LAST TIME…

Hello and welcome to the LAST newsletter of the term! No words can describe how grateful I am to everyone who read my newsletters :) Since the beginning of this term, I would plan what I would say for the last issue of Ninja News and we’re finally here… Although my last year, I had many firsts this year. My first RTC, FRS, in-person service event… I honestly didn’t think I would go so far in Key Club. I started off as a shy freshman to someone who can go up to anyone. I made my closest friends through this very club and that’s crazy! As an upperclassmen, I hope Key Club continues to be a safe and opportunity filled place for self-growth. I can confidently say I wouldn’t be the person I am today without Key Club…

I know there are so many cliche lines in this message, but it’s me being genuine. It’s going to be weird not having events to attend every month or seeing Key Clubbers not as often. Thank you DLT, publicity committee, officers, and members for making this term memorable for me! My heart will always have a place for Key Club and I hope you guys have a great next term! Goodbye Ninjas! See you around :)

KIWANIS SPOTLIGHT ADVISORS

There are two different types of advisors: faculty and Kiwanis. Advisors chaperone at events and help plan them as well. Those social and service events you see wouldn’t be possible without advisors!

Division 13 South and other divisions are made up by different schools. Each school’s Key Club has a faculty advisor, who hosts club meetings, attend events, pays for anything Key Club, fills out forms, and more!

Schools must also have a Kiwanis advisor. They help oversee the club and building it up alongside officers. For events such as DCON and FRS, they ensure MUC’s are updated, dues are paid, and anything for the Key Club to meet its requirements for the term.

It’s with a heavy heart to announce that Poly’s faculty advisor, Masaru Kawai, is retiring. Thank you so much Mr. Kawai for all you’ve done for Poly and Division 13 South! Don’t worry though, you’ll still see him around as a Kiwanis advisor!

For the month of March, clubs held elections for their new board for the 2023-2024 Term! Officers worked hard and continue to train their successors. The division had its Baby Shower DCM with Division 30 South Suns where members met the newly elected LTG’s and sang karaoke. In April, to celebrate the end of the term, we will have our annual Banquet DCM.

GOALS RECOGNITION

POLY x MAYFAIR SERVING AT SUNSET

CHELSEA LUCERO, POLYTECHNIC, HISTORIAN

Although there wasn’t any visible sunset, we did indeed +º serve º+ LOLL! we played a bunch of icebreakers like soulmate where a couple of our lovely members got matched!! We also played tic tac toe: relay race edition :000 Unfortunately, my team kept losing but that’s okay because in the end we were all winners ~ the most epic highlight of the event, though, was the service part! We wrote affirmations and turned them into mini 3D stars that we can put on the jars. Through this, Poly Key Club and Mayfair Key Club members also got the chance to get to know each other ^^. I, of course, want to give a special shoutout to Mr. Stephen Nguyen B)) for making us some yummy spam onigiris that we can munch on while we did our service event!! Overall, it was an enjoyable time and poly key club would love to hold another event with Mayfair Key Club! Go ninjackrabbits monsoons!!

I’d say my experience with the Khmer New Year parade was something new. I’d only ever watched it, never done anything for it. So this year I was like “Why not volunteer?” It was a good opportunity but kind of tiring. You definitely had to have some sort of

I think it was a good learning experience. It was a good chance to earn service hours during an event that anyone could participate in since it’s something that doesn’t really overwork you. And we could walk around with other people and friends so it was pretty fun. The adults helping were also very nice and helped guide us and everything and also shared snacks they brought.

WHY DID YOU JOIN KEY CLUB?

Bored during quarantine and wanted something to keep me occupied, I joined Key Club. Sierianna would tell me about Key Club and her memories, which sparked my initial interest.

WHAT HAS KEY CLUB TAUGHT YOU?

Like how everyone who promotes Key Club, the club has taught me leadership and social skills. If you’re skeptical about that, then I’m living proof. Freshman me would be BAFFLED to see me able to strike a convo with anyone or presenting at OTC/RTC! I’ve made some of my closest friends through Key Club, too!

WHAT IS YOUR KEY CLUB MOMENT?

My Key Club moment is Poly’s Escape Room Social back in 2020. I was a complete newbie and extremely shy to interact with others even over Zoom. However, I felt included in the welcoming atmosphere created by the upperclassmen and broke out of my shell a bit! This event truly highlighted the social aspect of Key Club and that we’re one big family! If I hadn’t gone to this event, I probably would’ve left Key Club.

IF SOMEONE IS RELUCTANT TO JOIN KEY CLUB, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO THEM?

I would tell them that you don’t know if you like something unless you try! I was in the same boat and I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without Key Club.

This term was amazing! I’m so thankful for my board and Cabrillo Key Club. As president, I witnessed the growth of the club and I’m beyond thankful for everyone’s efforts! Can’t wait to see what next term has in store :)

JAFET ARCHUNDIA | JORDAN

In the 22-23 term, Jordan has seen itself establish a larger presence within 13 South. One of our very own served the division by helping us grow our spirit as a Spirit Coordinator. We also served alongside the esteemed Poly Key Club early on in the term re-using plastic bags to make yarn. We may have not made as much progress we hoped to, but these achievements are proof enough that we are capable are becoming a greater group of ninjas. As our current board moves on to higher education, we wish all new ninjas a grand 23-24 term.

DESTINEE ROMULDO | MCBRIDE

Hiya ninjas it’s destinee the president (2022-2023) of mcbrides key club! I’m so proud of how active mcbride was this year. My board members worked so hard to make this term the best term! Key club made me so happy for these past 4 years.

HIYAAAA NINJASSS!!! For the month of March, Millikan Key Club participated in the 2nd AOC7 neighborhood clean up. We’ve also established our new board for the 2023-2024 term! YAYY!! We’ve been attending a lot of events lately and sadly the term is coming to an end :(( This was the best and fun year I’ve experienced in Key Club. Hello 13South! It is sad, but it is time for me to give my last goodbye update :(( I’ve learned so much from Key Club over the past couple of years and have made plenty of friends along the way. I’m thankful that I got to serve as PKC’s President this term, and I just want to emphasize how important every single member was this term. As one of my IP’s said, it all goes back to the members and as we close this term I can fully confirm that!!! I truly do appreciate the love that all the Keyclubbers put in. They make every service event, and DCM lively! Poly Key Club has been able to do amazing things because of our dedicated members. It is time for the next family of Keyclubbers to take over and although I am a little sad to leave, I am happy to be passing the torch to someone who believes in doing the best for their members too! March consisted of finishing the elections, we have a new official vice president and secretary. Our teachers went on strike right before spring break so we only held a single meeting at the start of the month. It’s been a quick first year and as a president, I honestly had no clue what to do at times but Sieri and some of the leaders had been a huge help. It’s almost graduation time for seniors and it’s a bit sad to see them go, wishing the best for them.

Hiya ninjas!! For the month of March we tried to transition from the old to the new board. They held a few meetings with the help of the old board & started learning the new things of inside work. They also started looking into service events and using the social media as basics. The 22-23’ board is grateful for the opportunities and we hope that you all continue in key club!
