During the month of September, Division 13 South held its annual Night-Market DCM! Clubs managed booths and helped raise money for PTP. Moreover, club’s had Club Rush at their schools and used the opportunity to their advantage to recruit new members. We can’t wait to see the new members at events!

Last month was plentiful in service events as club’s held their own events and the division had Operation School Bell. Spirit Team and Publicity Committee worked hard in making a music video, which can be watched on our Instagram page!

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL

MAULICA KHIEV | WILSON | TREASURER

The Operation School Bell service event was so fun!! I had a great time organizing and shelving clothing and backpacks with everyone! This annual event was super important because the clothing goes towards kids who are less fortunate!

BLAST FROM THE PAST

Last term, Division 13 South worked with Operation School Bell, making last month’s event the second year working with the organization! The backpacks that members filled last term were distributed to students at Willard Elementary School. Key Club is closely focused with helping children in need, which makes serving for this organization even more special and impactful.

NIGHT-MARKET DCM

Night Market DCM is special because it’s the most anticipated DCM of the term. Like a lot of other members there, it was my first time attending one! had high expectations going into it and was not disappointed! The food and drinks were delicious, from the thai tea to the spam musubi. It was much fun watching members karaoke, dance, and have an awesome time. Definitely one of the most memorable events of the year. THANK YOU TO

PTP POSTER MAKING

JIMENA ROMERO | CABRILLO | MEMBER

At the Poly X Cabrillo PTP Poster Making event, members made educational posters! I had a fun time at the service event where I met new people and learned about pediatric trauma that children face and how key club contributes to helping out those in need!

natalie kim

POLY, EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT, JUNIOR

Why did you join Key Club?

I wanted to connect with my community and I really just loved the people in it!

What has Key Club taught you?

Key Club has taught me that I can do way more than I thought!

What is you Key Club moment?

SPIRIT SESSIONNSSSS! I was new to Poly and went by myself. Even though I was shy and uncomfortable, I made new friends and kept wanting to come back! I didn’t even know I could do that tbh. Everyone was also so nice and supportive. Spirit sessions helped me come out of my shell and I just really loved the environment!

If someone is reluctant to join Key Club, what would you tell them?

I would say “I know it can be intimidating and scary at first, but you’ll quickly fall in love with the people and the events. It’s honestly like a nice escape from school even though it has to do with school.”

Remember, ITS A GREAT DAY TO BE A RAMINJA!

POLYTECHNIC | NISHA PATEL

Poly Key Club has been up and running busily! With participation in different division and club service events, spirit sessions, paying dues, and preparing for homecoming faire plus RTC, we have been on a roll. October will continue to be a lovely hectic month for the members, so they can learn more about Key Club, and (hint hint) be more involved. At the end of this month, and early November, we’re planning to set committees and do our best to win that spirit stick at FRS! We’re continuing to raise funds for PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program) past our $1200 goal, and we are ready to serve above and beyond this term.
