L T G Happy August Caribous! I hope you guys have had an exciting month, even if we weren’t able to do too many group service activities since we’re in quarantine. This month, online school started again and sitting in zoom calls all day has me missing real school! Don’t forget to social distance and look for ways to serve your community from home!

Happy Back-to-School season Caribous! I hope you enjoyed your summer. I celebrated my birthday over the summer and spent time with family. I was very happy to have been invited to Live Oak’s officer meeting. My goal is to visit every single one of the clubs whether for a meeting or one of your events. Let me know whether virtual or in person so I can come meet you guys. As the school year starts please take note of the member recruitment ideas provided in this issue. Goodluck Caribous!

Free Rice is a free game where you could play different categories to earn rice grains to be donated to hungry charities! Caribous had fun helping each other with answers in their different categories. Some of these officers even played along separately in their own category to earn even more rice. This counts as At-Home-Service as well for the amount of time you play it!

How can I recruit new members? Online Promotion If your club has social media accounts, utilize them to advertise. Posting videos of your fun Key Club events can show the appeal. Take advantage of other graphics to catch the attention of your viewers. If your school has an ASB or council account, you could ask them to promote you on their account as well.

With the start of the new school year, it is the perfect opportunity to reel in more Key Clubbers. Here are some ideas straight from the CNH Newsletter to help guide and inspire you!

Club Rush If your school has in person club days, hand out flyers and candy to make your club’s booth stand out! Talk about important stuff like paying dues but also fun stuff like Fall Rally. Engage them with ice breakers and inclusiveness. A great way to appeal to new students are talking about making new friends within Key Club and scholarships.

Meetings Club meetings are essential! There’s always new information constantly updating in Key Club. Plan out your icebreakers and games whether in person or virtual. Plan bonding events as well as your service events. Emphasize the CNH family and inclusiveness. Help them feel you want the members to be there and that they are always welcome. 8
